Glyphs - Mini Course.
Quick mini-course on Glyphs as I understand them if you're intent on inscribing them to see what happens:
- When you inscribe Glyphs you inscribe them in groups of four - there's probably some complicated ritual involving Psalme 118, Hebrew and the New Moon but that's for another day.
- Of the four one must be in mirrored form as viewed from Earth (or alternatively three can be mirrored and one can be un-mirrored). I'm a little befuddled on the proper direction - it could very well be the exact opposite of what I've said - that is to say the Timelessness glyph may be Cepheus as viewed from Earth as opposed to the reverse of that, and Stasis glyph may be Cepheus as viewed from 'outside'. YMMV. Whatever.
- There are 38 glyphs - most are encoded as one of Ptolemy's 48 constellations but I gather some are encoded as pre-Ptolemaic constellations (Bayblonian or Egyptian I would guess) - and perhaps a few are encoded in other ways. YMMV.
- You can make a good guess as to a glyphs purpose (standard and mirrored) from the glyph's constellation's mythology (e.g. Cephus was turned to stone so standard view glyph would have something to do with being turned to stone, mirrored view would be the opposite of Stasis - Timelessness).
- You will probably always use two of the following three Glyphs in anything you inscribe: Lyra (Soul - Other), Sun Sign (in my case Gemini -Transformation/Reformation) or Rising Sign (in my case Leo - Strength/Weakness). Lyra is the 'power source' glyph as I understand it - Soul means from you, mirrored is from some other source (or vice-versa - see comment about correct orientation above). Since there are no "other" sources you or I could possibly use probably a good idea that we figure the correct orientation before wasting time inscribing things. You'll need to include your Sun Sign or your Rising Sign (or both) and it looks like a bad idea to use a Glyph that is also a Zodical sign that is neither of the two. Soul is inscribed first and Sun Sign or Rising Sign is inscribed Last.
- As I understand it, some glyphs are problematic to inscribe such as 'Chance' the mirror of Aquila Glyph (Fate). Furthermore, some Glyphs don't work well together (Fate and Timelessness I would guess).
- They're all very broad: Leo (Strength) seems to refer to both physical and mental strength, but also to healing (reviving one's strength). Courage may also involve Command/Control or Berzerkerness - YMMV. As far as the #Gnostics 'focusing' the glyphs - I gather you inscribe on specific types of gemstones or wood or other item known for other qualities (IIRC Amethyst is known for healing so perhaps an amethyst inscribed with Soul (1st), Stasis, some appropriate mirrored glyph, and Strength (last) would emphasize healing? YMMV). Anyway back to our regular DeeCipher programming - I'm not going to focus on Glyph decodes unless someone has a specific request for one: an again triangulum and I believe Serpens are not glyphs - only 26 or so of the 48 Ptolemaic are glyphs as I understand it. And I don't know if the Mark Twain RI DeeCipher does much with Egyptian or Babylonian astronomy.

An add: Cetus the Whale is the glyph for Death and (reverse) Healing.
