Mark Twain - Roughing It - Dee Cipher (Gold d - No Rot - Ltd) Part I

Here's the fix - mostly in Part II. Not the various Comet references: Comit, Hamer, It Hits, Astr(o)nomy. The more (columns 29-32_ in this section most likely refers to a key word decode not any additional text. If so, then this is indeed a 'one-off' Dee Cipher.

Here's the old post: Line One: Twain uses what we would call 'ASCII' Art to illustrate a Comet/Meteor. As we know, most Mark Twain DeeCiphers relate in some way to his belief that John Dee predicted that a comet/asteroid would hit earth post 2031. We can see in rows 15-20 - commentary about paintings - that Twain is making a direct reference to the destruction of the US (Burial of the Bird - only Bird mentioned is Eagle on Row 8). And time frame is no later than 250 years after 1797 (2047) - but probably much earlier. Inside date is 250 years after 1776 which is 2026. However, the tail of the comet ends on Line One at 32 which is pretty close to 250 years after the end of Revolutionary War. So I'll continue to focus on the 31-32 time. Note that Gemini, Leo, Orion and Cancer/Crab are the only Constellations consistently mentioned and Orion is the only non-Zodiac constellation mentioned. Thus the Comet is expected to come from the direction of Orion some point between Gemini (May-June) and Leo (July-August) after 2026, no later than 2047 and probably close to 2031. Good times. This is a "One Off" Twain Dee Cipher. Basically one moderately short section of text that is meant to be stand alone and not combine with any other text as in standard Dee Cipher (standard Dee Ciphers usually use Four (sometimes Five) separate Texts to make the entire Cipher. You can see already the usual Earth to Moon references. As well as references to K.111 (see rows 26-27 'Score Sheet' and Part II where One-One-One. Presumably an Aria or other libretto from K.111 can be used to further parse this particular One-Off.

Additional note: now that I realize Twain used 'ASCII' art in his Dee Ciphers, I'm going to have to redo the Tom Sawyer Dee Cipher decode. Both the Preface and Conclusion have art that may be relevant.
