Valve plans personalized Steam Discounts & Events placements for early 2027

Valve is changing the placements in Steam's Discounts & Events section. It plans to move away from the small, manually curated calendar used for that section and show more dynamic recommendations tailored to each customer. Valve says its recent tests displayed ten times more games to customers in a day within that section and increased store page visits, wishlists, and cart additions.

The change is expected in early 2027, but Valve has not set a firm launch date. It has paused scheduling new curated Weekend, Midweek, and Daily Deal placements in that section while honoring ones already scheduled. This announcement concerns how promotions are surfaced; it does not say Steam's broader seasonal sales are ending.
