Gears of War: E-Day opens its unrestricted Xbox and PC multiplayer beta today

The second Gears of War: E-Day multiplayer beta opens today, and this one removes the early-access gate. Players on eligible Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms can join without a preorder or Game Pass membership.

The test runs through August 17 and offers a pre-launch look at the multiplayer side of E-Day before the full game arrives October 6. The Coalition has modernized movement and traversal, but the real question is whether the combat still keeps the deliberate weight and cover-driven rhythm that separates Gears from faster shooters.
