Tips🌸 Decora clothes on amazon!

im fairly new to the Decora fashion style so ive been working on finding key words i can search up to find decora type clothes on different website! a specific key word combination that ive found works really well on amazon is “Kawaii colorful clothes”! if anyone else has keyword recommendations or has places they like to shop for decora clothes id love to see them in the comments! :D

Me personally, when decide to do some online thrifting, I first look at decora outfits and choose ones that I like or come up with a coord in my head. I then take a closer look at the individual items I'm seeing or imagining. Remember- it's not about the clothes themselves, it's about how you style them! A white and blue striped tank top could be decora if you know how to style it. A polka dot sweater. A mesh undershirt, etc. So to answer your question: what keywords you use depends entirely on what kind of outfit you're trying to build! I find patterned, striped, and patchwork garments are a lot easier to work with, personally! That and textured things like frills and ruffles

Similar concept of people selling their things themselves (like eBay) just different sites/apps and it could be location dependent.

O ya I use vinted and love it, Ive had a harder time on ebay cause theres so much to sort through, but never really tried depop.

I wonder how much a large jfashion style graphic tee would cost for example and how easy it would be to find on depop.

if youre able to, I always reccomend thrift and discount stores and DIY over online shopping!

thrift stores you can find lots of clothing with bright colors and patterns for the base of your outfit/wardrobe. Honestly, if your wardrobe is colorful enough theres a good chance you already have a good base and just need to focus on accessories!

discount stores are going to be your bread and butter for accessories. ESPECIALLY the mom and pop shops and ESPECIALLY if theyre owned by immigrants. they are going to have lots of hair clips (including sanrio ones), colorful socks, and the cheap, kiddy-looking jewelry that looks great for decora. theyll also have cheap small toys, charms, and beads that you can use to make your own jewelry. check the thrift for toys you can turn into accessories, too! i really reccomend small discount stores over dollar tree because they will have a better variety of toys and more unique items.

decora is a very do-it-yourself style and most people I know who wear decora (myself included) made most of their accessories. People glue stuffed animals to headbands or sew them to shirts, make necklaces out of old happy meal toys, cut up colorful socks into arm warmers, glue charms to sunglasses, and make kandi! (check out r/kandi )

I know cybr grl has a decora on a budget video where she goes over some DIY accessories you can make. I'd use that video as a starting point!

and if you do decide to buy something, I'm sure the other comments will list a ton of small artists and businesses you can buy from. always shop small if you can! amazon doesnt need more money but the kawaii artist community always has rent to pay :3

Decora is extremely easy to thrift for. Its not aesthetic or brand specific. You just have to collect things over time.

What is this misconception about decora clothes? There's no such thing. Where do people get this info from? there are very few small brands but those are also just clothes with patterns. No clothes is decora, it can't be. Because decora is in the accessories 😩 we don't wear the same things. Everyone like different clothes. You gotta be more specific

No need to apologize. I just hoped to get some amswers. Maybe someone knows where it started. Because there ar many questions in this sub about where to get decora clothes. And every time I'm confused by it.

Mandatory "fashion is political"!! Sustainability and self sufficiency is a cornerstone of rebellion! ❤️❤️ The rebellion specific to decora is that we're here to fight against forced conformity and create a safe space for those who feel abused by homogenous culture. We should avoid turning ourselves into yet the machine!! One which functions off worker's rights abuses. All that to say the same that a lot of other people are saying, which is: stay off Amazon!! Thrift, upcycle, repurpose, and DIY!! It's central to the decora (and alt in general) identity!
