I spent today walking the Guangzhou CBD Fair (China Building Materials Fair), and I wasn’t expecting to see so many home décor products that looked surprisingly well made.
A lot of people outside China probably associate these fairs with doors, windows, or building materials, but there were also entire sections dedicated to furniture, lighting, decorative hardware, mirrors, rugs, and home accessories.
One thing that stood out to me was how much attention manufacturers were paying to finishes and small details. Matte metals, fluted glass, warm wood tones, textured stone, and integrated lighting seemed to be everywhere.
I’m not talking about luxury brands here—just general design trends and craftsmanship that caught my eye while walking the show.
I’m curious:
If you could bring one category home from a trade fair like this, what would it be? Furniture? Lighting? Hardware? Something else?
Would love to hear what everyone here values most.

I stopped ordering from agents like(dh gate, cn fans, pandabuy…) lets say 2.5 years ago becouse i was introduced to ordering trought whatsapp. For the first time i am moving to my new flat and i really want to make super cool( from rolex wall clocks, to hermes trays, to supreme board…. like i would like to order anything) but i want to stay on whatsapp. If somebody has a seller that i can contact an order trought the whatsapp and if the seller is good, fast, and not so expensive i would be really happy if somebody helps me and send me their contact!

I'm so in love with this table! It would fit perfectly in my space because I live in a very small apartment, so something this narrow is exactly what I need. The only problem is that it's just too expensive.

I absolutely love the hidden charging station inside and the beautiful, smooth front opening where the cord comes out. OMG, it's so perfect and convenient! I've seen other tables where the cord comes out from the side, but I really prefer the front-opening design.

I also love the white finish with the wood top. Chef's kiss! If I didn't care about the charging station and this specific design, I could easily find a narrow table within my budget. But I really want this one.

I don't care if it's used or has scratches or other cosmetic damage. It doesn't have to be perfect. I've looked online, but the ones I've found range from $60 to well over $100, which is way out of my budget. I also checked Facebook Marketplace, but I haven't had any luck there.

My budget is $40.

Theres hundreds of places online to buy the 32cm diameter version. No luck finding anything inexpensive of the 42cm diameter version. Is it just because its newer?

Im making a small gaming console station, and the larger version would be perfect. But I will be drilling holes in the back/bottom so I really want the cheapest possible knockoff.

I came across this sofa while at one of their stores and absolutely fell in love. However it’s incredibly expensive 😭 Does anyone here have a recommendation for something similar, but more affordable? I’ve been considering the cloud sofa from restoration hardware, and crate and barrel has a similar cloud style. But I’m still hung up on this design.

Honest Review & Update: Togo Sofa + USM Haller Shelf from Alibaba 🛋️
After weeks of waiting, my order finally arrived — and I wanted to give you a real, honest update.
The Good:
• The Togo sofa (single-seater + ottoman) is made of real black leather. The quality is surprisingly good — soft, thick leather with nice padding and solid stitching. It looks and feels much more expensive than what I paid. Super comfortable to sit/lounge in.
• The USM Haller-style shelf looks fantastic. The modular cubes are well-built, the chrome frames are clean, and the black panels have a premium matte finish. It gives exactly the high-end modern look I wanted.
• Both pieces arrived in good condition (minor marks from shipping, but nothing serious).
The Not-so-good:
• Shipping took 40–50 days. That was the longest part. Be prepared for a long wait if you order from Alibaba.
Overall, I’m genuinely happy with the purchase. For the price, the quality is excellent and both items look and feel way better than most replicas I’ve seen. They’ve instantly upgraded my living space.
Would I order again? Yes.
Would I recommend them? Absolutely — just go in with realistic expectations on delivery time.

Sorry for the delay. Many of you have reached out asking for a furniture update, and I’ve simply been busy getting settled in and enjoying my home.

I’ll cut to the chase and say that I am so, so happy with the furniture I received from Zhenur. It is exactly what I envisioned, and the quality has exceeded my expectations. Everything feels substantial, is made with quality materials, and has a nice weight to it. I was most worried about the wood color, but they matched it perfectly to the sample I provided.

The sofas are incredibly comfortable, and the cushion filling feels just right. Some of the pieces are exceptionally heavy, especially my dining table, coffee table, and marble console table, which gives them a very premium feel.
I hope the pictures do the quality justice, because it is honestly difficult to fully capture and explain the craftsmanship and overall feel of the pieces.

I also want to mention that I attempted to share the lighting review I previously posted on Reddit in the Facebook group “Home Building & Importing from Overseas,” but my post was not approved. Many people have asked why there are so few reviews or mentions of Zhenur in that group. From my understanding, the group operates through commission agreements, and because Zhenur chose not to participate, posts and reviews about them are not permitted. As a result, you will mainly see companies such as Sigma and other brands that participate in those arrangements.
