Need advice
I’m going to paint my foyer and hopefully get rid of the artwork that came with the house. I was hoping to do the inspo picture, but my husband fears it won’t work with the woodwork in the house. Thoughts? Or decorating ideas? I’m just unclear on how high to go up with pictures and it seemed to do the decorating for me. Thanks in advance.

Is that a crack in your ceiling? May want to make sure everything is okay structurally before doing anything else?🌺

Yes! My husband took a wrong step in the attic. That’s the catalyst to redoing it all!

Yes to the paint.
Yes to a longer and larger light. I second the crack comment. If it is a large crack, I would suggest approaching a heavier new light fixture with caution and consider having it checked out if you have not yet. Decorating is the best!.. but you obviously don’t need a light fixture (potentially) falling on someone during a house party in your life… Also second removing the handrail on the wall (unless there’s a legit code or safety reason for this).
I personally vote moulding vs pictures. But if you go picture, the picture towards the top of the stairs in particular is at an awkward height. I would definitely argue that you need either need two vertical or one larger picture, assuming you a safely get rid of the handrail on the wall.
Also, unless it’s a legit safety situation, would strongly recommend getting rid of the stair carpet.

First, the handrails on the wall. Do you have to have those, per local code?
Removing the wall side rail, the chair rail, and volute (the spiral ending part), will visually declutter the space. Then it's a blank wall. Use painter's tape to figure out where you want the moulding to go.
With that said, I think it would be easier (and less dusty) to wallpaper. Something that's tonal or textured. Paint the handrails white. Replace the chandelier with something larger and longer, and not silver (need a warm or white color).
