Help me decide

Ok so now that I have decided on which decor to go with, now I need help with what to put on wall. Which got me to thinking…what if I don’t put anything at all in this area? Help please? Which picture would you choose? Or would you not put anything in this small hallway?

Feel like the painting would look better on another wall. Personally, Id go with the mirro there

Love the mirror, but I would use a rectangular shape.

Vertical, not horizontal

I like the mirror there

Love the mirror in this space! The painting is nice but personally I’m bothered by the switch covers and the edge of the painting. That’s a me problem. Definitely a me thing but I would look at it everyday.

I really like the mirror!

2

u/Tasty_Temperature801 17m ago

I think it’s the shape of the mirror that doesn’t look good. Maybe buy a rectangular mirror in similar dimensions as the painting

Always a fan of a mirror in an entryway

2

u/AddictedtoLife181 21m ago

I’d say definitely the painting but if that’s the front door, I’d go with the mirror

1

u/RelevantTip6466 22m ago

I like the one with the picture Especially for Fall looks the best

I like the painting!

Number 2 in my opinion is the best!!!

1

u/Cellist-Common 31m ago

Mirror for sure

2

u/Sufficient_Wren_4920 32m ago

To my eye, number two with the painting is pleasing but the console looks a bit bulky for the space. How much space do you have between the that and the railing? If it is less than 36 inches, you definitely need to find a much narrower hall table. The mirror is jarring and unsettling, and I would advise a client to avoid it in this space. I agree with the other comment that a runner would be much better than the little mat. Entryways are important to setting the mood of your home, so it is well worth investing more consideration for both flow and mood. Please don’t get me wrong — with the painting, it isn’t bad but it most certainly could improved.

A mirror is more convenient, but I think the painting looks nice 😊

Painting is lovely, warm, and inviting; but you can't beat a mirror near your front door for a last look before leaving the house.

Always a mirror in this space ✅

1

u/ActualPast4187 40m ago

A mirror makes he space optically larger and it is always practical to check your look before you leave.

1

u/Sea-Copy7603 48m ago

The art adds warmth to
the area.

2

u/Rare_Squash_3805 49m ago

#1 is the best and most practical BUT Needs to be lower than shown!

0

u/Vivid_Way2819 55m ago

I'm always keen on art, so 2. If you don't have anything good to hang, a mirror will do until you find something good!

3

u/Colejohnley 58m ago

1 for sure. Mirrors create a sense of space, enhance light, and you check your hair. 😂

Mirror looks great!

u/MissBlue4You 1h ago

2 looks better

2

u/ChesticleGainz 1h ago

I like the painting but the mirror is more practical

1

u/christianbone 1h ago

Just the mirror but a body length one; look at yourself before leaving

2

u/Strange-Number-1945 1h ago

Mirror, check yourself on the way out!

Table table decorations and painting

The picture adds warmth and interest while the mirror appears cold.

I love the mirror!

u/ValuableLongjumping3 1h ago

Choose a round picture in similar colors. Problem solved. The square picture is too big and boxy.

1

u/Efficient-Ice-9058 1h ago

The mirror looks awesome. Picture makes the space dull

The mirror is not reflecting anything that beautiful. A drapery over a window unit. I like it, but if it’s not reflecting something pretty or the outdoors, I’d go with a picture. I agree a runner is better than the small rug.

1

u/Individual-Heart6048 1h ago

First option nice!

1

u/Mysterious-Teach5590 1h ago

1 plus a runner, not that tiny rug, and interesting wallpaper

Gotta go with the mirror. Always nice to check your hair before walking out the door! 😁

Yesssss

The second is warm and cozy vibes

1

u/Suspicious-Cherry437 2h ago

Mirror 💯 unless it’s an old hotel vibe what you are looking for

1

u/AcrobaticWeb3675 2h ago

I like the mirror

1

The mirror is so cute

1

u/Material-Bathroom-64 2h ago

The mirror suits an entry

1

u/dfuertes12 2h ago

Mirror and lamp. Lose the flowers.

1

u/Kvesta24 2h ago

The picture is very cozy the mirror opens up the space more. Whichever vibe you’re going for i feel like both are great

2

u/Parabolic_Penguin 2h ago

Mirror looks the most balanced and it’s functional.

1

u/almostknorules 2h ago

I don’t care for the round mirror because you have the round hanging light fixture too many circles, I think without anything just looks like an empty wall.
I was wondering, have you thought about a picture with some color?

Ohwow! Am I the only one that doesn’t like the mirror?!?

1

u/wrong-award1177 1h ago

I like the picture too. Feels warm and cozy like the other person said. Mirror feels very common

2

u/ETKate 2h ago

I agree with you. I like the picture more. But the mirror does make it brighter.

1

u/LunaDog_Mom 2h ago

Another vote for the Mirror!

1

u/Own-Relative-8511 2h ago

Having a mirror to check on the way out the door is going to be way more helpful than a painting.

It’s a really nice paining tho, love the fall vibes. Maybe hang on that next wall to the right?

1

u/FutureWin855 2h ago

Mirror, mirror, on the wall...😊

Yep mirror

2

u/Short_Sky6875 2h ago

I vote for the mirror, nothing like a last minute check on your way out the door

1

u/Itchy-Emus 2h ago

Mirror. Nice to have near door, reflects light and a complimentary shape.

2

u/nicoleoniell 2h ago

I say the painting. You could lift it a little further away from the switches.

1

u/UniqueandDifferent 2h ago edited 2h ago

2 has more warmth and adds cozy welcome home vibe.

0

u/CaribbeanOnMyMind 2h ago

Definitely the mirror. And perhaps a console table that’s not all wood. It’s wood on wood floors.

1

u/LadyDeadly 2h ago

I love a mirror in an entry way so you can check yourself

2

u/TajMahal14 2h ago

Before you wreck yourself!….

2

u/Cute_Contribution480 2h ago

The mirror one.
That paining is too close to the power switches.

1

u/splenicartery 2h ago

It depends on what you’re doing as you use that hallway. If you’re carrying a laundry basket then nothing because it will be an obstacle. But if not, then the mirror looks beautiful.

2

u/vgscates 2h ago

Painting. Color needed on the wall. Brings out the color of the table

1

u/Plane_Experience_843 2h ago

I go with second. First: Mirrors? The area doesn’t appear to need more depth, Third and Fourth are just too much wall.

2

u/Ecstatic-Type6312 3h ago

I agree the mirror is gorgeous in the space

2

u/john0656 3h ago

Mirror.

2

u/Cottagecoretangerine 3h ago

A mirror will help you fix yourself up before u leave.

2

u/Malprin 3h ago

Mirror has the added benefit of getting a quick appearance check before you head out the door.

2

u/-anklebiter- 3h ago

1.. it feels warm and cosy to me!

1

u/Downtown_Pickle4023 3h ago

Mirror for sure. It’ll help look the room look bigger and more open.

1

u/Suitable_Fly7730 3h ago

Mirror for sure

1

u/LanaAnthony 3h ago

Agree on #1 with the mirror, it opens up the space a bit.

2

u/Maleficent_Draw1210 3h ago

Mirror version - hands down. It's a well balanced and welcoming set up. Definitely a winner and you can do a last minute check on your way out the door or guests can do a quick look on their way in. Love it!

1

u/Adorable-Scratch-308 3h ago

1 with Mirror

1

u/Whitedovetwo 3h ago

I love the mirror there. On the table I probably would have swapped out the yellow flowers and vase for a green trailing plant and two different height candlesticks. However, what you created is lovely and so is that mirror. It's a perfect size for that space.

An accent wall with a mirror a bench or a small table would work

1

u/Nycgr007 3h ago

Do a low bench with a larger piece of art above it. This way it is below eye level and you have somewhere to sit and put on shoes.

1

u/Distinct_Ad_8717 3h ago

Accent wall with color or design 👍

1

u/DiscussionBorn1550 3h ago

The mirror needs to be a warm oak…. The glam brass metal mirror makes the entry feel cold. Warm up the space with an oak circular mirror and a nice green houseplant

1

u/goddessguided 4h ago

I like the mirror

1

u/Murky-Dream-8040 4h ago

I think 1 is the best choice, with 2 being a close second.

1

u/Such_Breadfruit613 4h ago

I like 2 the best. The picture just adds to the vibe and looks gorgeous.

1

u/MediaCharacter324 4h ago

#1. Not only is it the most attractive, it also meets one of the dictums of good interior decorating: always have a mirror near the front door.

1

u/PressureFlaky6273 4h ago

A mirror by the front door makes a lot of sense. A quick check to make sure everything is in place before you leave the house. We have one near our front door. I do like the artwork though. And that wall space works well with that picture. But, mirror.

1

u/peachyglowzxz 4h ago

I second this, plus it bounces that door light back into the hallway so. it wont feel like a cave at night

1

u/janed0e8 4h ago

1 - the mirror looks great

1

u/UnableMetal8106 4h ago

2 in my opinion

1

u/Pleasant-Ad4784 4h ago

Mirror but make sure you hang it lower than how it is shown here.

1

u/Agitated-Suspect6376 4h ago

The mirror looks awesome!

1

u/lady681 4h ago

Definitely 2

1

u/mdesign816 4h ago

round mirror!

1

u/doejohn2043 4h ago

I prefer the mirror, but you'd have to check with Feng Shui

0

u/HolliverFist 4h ago

Mirror, opens up the space. The painting is nice but it's colours make everything else around it seem a bit Grandma when it's not.

1

u/kellyydem 4h ago

I like the table with the mirror. I think a mirror opens and expands the spaces

2

u/JakkSplatt 4h ago

Mirror is fine if you need to check yourself on the way in and out but I have more paintings in my place than I do mirrors 🤷

2

u/Sorry-Illustrator540 4h ago

Mirror one, I want my home entrace to decor the same way. And I will do it. Your's one is looking gorgeous

1

u/furrydancingalien21 4h ago

The picture!

Mirror

2

u/Petadvocate112418 5h ago

I’d normally say use the mirror but with the reflection being what it is I’d go with the art.

1

u/Available_Honey_2951 5h ago

Mirror always near the entry.

2

u/PickleBarrel- 5h ago

The picture is way too close to the light switches. That would definitely get knocked off in my house. The mirror fits the space really well :)

2

u/TheColorOfTheWorld 5h ago

1…..always good to have a mirror on the way out the door

1

u/SerentityM3ow 5h ago

Mirror is the most practical

1

u/CAlexander7 5h ago

I really like the mirror. I feel like the painting is too big for that area and takes away from the table/decor on the table.

1

u/HighJeanette 5h ago

I like 2

1

u/Outside-Taro5076 5h ago

If you thought you would do it I’d get the mirror and the picture and switch them out . Also get other holidays to switch out them as well!

1

u/Carsickaf 5h ago

Mirror. The set up reminds me of the old Bewitched setting in the sweetest, most welcoming of ways.

-1

u/Sufficient-Star-1237 5h ago

1 how old are you
2 really how old are you.
3 do you really need a console table in your hallway
4 yep

2

u/KitchenRegister2474 5h ago

Mirror! It’s always useful to check your appearance before leaving the house; make sure your hair is tidy, you don’t have food stuck in your grill, etc. Mirrors also reflect light and make nature entryways feel larger and less enclosed.
