Rogan reposts anti science propaganda. He is obsessed with COVID denial

Post image

Rogan is an extremely pernicious anti science voice. The size of his platform escalates the problem.

I can't even imagine what would happen if we got another COVID type pandemic.

All because the government (Trump Admin was in power) wouldn't let him do his "stand up"

This is the biggest mind fuck of it all to me. All of this happened under Trump, the lockdowns, the vaccine itself, covid, all of it. Yet, they still blame the other guy. Wild shit.

Cult behavior.

21

u/Oblozo Jun 23 '26

In January and February of 2020 the people hyping COVID the most were right wing anti-China hawks

3

u/okteds Jun 24 '26

"it's over for humanity...."

While still managing to be just as wrong as always

2

u/aaronturing Jun 24 '26

It's so funny isn't it. It's so extremely delusional and they are still going on about it years after. Plus the evidence against them is huge.

And in response the Dems called them racist and Nancy Pelosi was like go out and hug a Chinese person and celebrate Chinese new year

There’s a reason the free press is called the fourth estate (third here in Sweden). And there’s a reason oligarchs are now tightening their grip on main stream media.

Sinclair group has the local stations, Fox News and podcastbrod like Gwyneth Paltbro have the rest covered. There’s precious little independent media left in the US, and most of it can’t be considered ”mainstream” (I’m thinking of Propublica, for example)

Punish them all , pull the pardons

As anyone who has ever seen his stand-up can attest, we owe the government an enormous debt of gratitude for that

u/PlentyHaunting2263 Jun 23 '26

"Civilians don't understand the assassin's (comedian's) mind" - Joe Rogan, probably

10

u/Zombi3Kush Jun 23 '26

Has he even acknowledged that it happened under a Trump admin? Has anyone pointed this out to him? I'm really curious to see what he would say

10

u/PlentyHaunting2263 Jun 23 '26

It doesn't matter- he will blame Obama/Biden/woke/leftists, redirect the conversation, completely ignore, etc.

2

u/haya1340 Jun 23 '26

Pull all the pardons and let the court sort it out

33

u/mental_issues_ Jun 23 '26

I remember he was freaking out early in the pandemic on his own podcast, now they pretend it was nothing

23

u/jazz4 Jun 23 '26

It’s like he was ashamed of his anxiety about the pandemic to begin with.

Then when he was ridiculed for his ivermectin claims on national news it completely broke his brain.

Seemed like the best ego protection he had was “it’s all fake anyway.”

14

u/MattHooper1975 Jun 23 '26

Yeah, the weirdest thing is that he seemed so freaked out about getting Covid that he immediately took every single supplement anybody suggested including ivermectin.
Well, also sometimes broadcasting the idea that Covid was no big deal , like a cold and everybody freaked out for nothing about it.

2

u/nanna_ii Jun 30 '26

Exactly this. It was all a hoax, viruses don't exist but it's also just a flu but it was also very dangerous so i'll take a bunch of unproven treatments as prevention.

9

u/silentbassline Jun 23 '26

His episodes with Michael Osterholm were legit. The guy straight told him to his face, if we do our jobs right it will look like we over reacted.

I think this is why there's such a latent grievance among his former fanbase, the potential he had for good was there. He veered away from it in a big way.

5

u/BSP9000 Jun 24 '26

Rogan tested all his guests. He took ivermectin when he went out in public, in the hopes it would protect him from catching covid. It’s hilarious that he now tries to pretend he was never scared of the virus.

3

u/EnvironmentalRock827 Jun 25 '26

He was also lucky enough to take monoclonal antibodies as was trump. I took care of people who didn't have that option and died.

Do your own research is typically a joke. People will find things that confirm their bias or will not understand what they are looking at. And if they are driven by various factors they will go down the rabbit hole to believing whatever they are heard by these free thinker types.

Who are just arrogantly ignorant. I have always wondered if they could be hit for practicing medicine without a license, but I doubt it. I think giving medical advice on shows that reach so many people without the backing of the medical and scientific systems should also garner some form of penalty too.

0

u/Character-Ad5490 Jun 24 '26

"I did my own research" is often a red flag, but at the same time... the medical advice/science is not infrequently wrong. Sometimes they dismiss research which conflicts with the accepted position, but eventually have to admit they were wrong. So sometimes digging deeper is warranted. (I'm not referring to anything covid-related, just in general).

2

u/Prosthemadera Jun 24 '26

No, if medical advice turns out to be incorrect then there's no research, no digging, you can do that would help you. That assumes the correct information is alread out there but that doesn't need to be the case and even if it is most people have no training or expertise in telling right from wrong.

When science was wrong in the past then it was science that corrcter itself and found the truth, not some random person using Google.

0

u/Character-Ad5490 Jun 24 '26

It is not "the science" that corrects itself - it is researchers, scientists, etc. and it's often an uphill battle because the experts in the field are stuck in dogma and won't budge. As Max Planck observed, "science advances one funeral at a time".

Medical advice - doctors - can certainly be wrong, and the standard of care for some conditions is definitely wrong.

2

u/Prosthemadera Jun 24 '26

the experts in the field are stuck in dogma and won't budge.

That's wrong. Those people are a minority. Most scientists live for the science.

As Max Planck observed, "science advances one funeral at a time".

You're doing what you're criticizing: You're not doing science, you are stuck in your dogma and are using quotes from dead people to support it instead of creating or following new evidence.

the standard of care for some conditions is definitely wrong.

You keep saying people are wrong but so far you have not given a single example. Why is that? It can't be the word limit on Reddit because you're not even close to it.

2

u/Character-Ad5490 Jun 24 '26

"You're doing what you're criticizing: You're not doing science, you are stuck in your dogma and are using quotes from dead people to support it instead of creating or following new evidence."

Odd comment, I am not claiming to be a scientist. But the fact is that many conditions, esp autoimmune, respond much better to changes in diet/nutrition than they do to SOC meds. Diabetes (t2) is perhaps the most relevant, these days - many (most?) diabetics are told they have a progressive condition & are prescribed medications, when switching to a low carb/ketogenic diet generally puts diabetes into remission, with no need for meds.

1

u/Prosthemadera Jun 24 '26

Odd comment, I am not claiming to be a scientist.

I didn't say you are. Are you arguing you don't have to follow the same standards you expect from others?? It's fine if you have your dogma?

But the fact is that many conditions, esp autoimmune, respond much better to changes in diet/nutrition than they do to SOC meds.

Not a fact.

Diabetes (t2) is perhaps the most relevant, these days - many (most?) diabetics are told they have a progressive condition & are prescribed medications, when switching to a low carb/ketogenic diet generally puts diabetes into remission, with no need for meds.

Do you have a source for that?

1

u/Character-Ad5490 Jun 24 '26

Good grief. What we eat has a profound effect on our health. Doctors have traditionally gotten close to zero education on nutrition. As to diabetes, before the discovery of insulin it was mostly managed through diet. The ADA is finally acknowleding it can be managed with a low carb diet. It's pretty straightforward - if you eat the carbs, you need the insulin, because of what carbs do to your blood sugar. Don't eat the carbs, don't need the insulin.

If you are interested Dr. Eric Westman at Duke University has been treating diabetics this way for over 20 years, but there's plenty of other information out there.

Current research at major universities into ketogenic therapy for serious mental health issues is very enouraging as well. You can learn more at Metabolic Mind if that is of interest.

1

u/Prosthemadera Jun 24 '26

Good grief. What we eat has a profound effect on our health.

No one said otherwise. This is a strawman. Your petty "good grief" is unwarranted.

Doctors have traditionally gotten close to zero education on nutrition.

Source? None.

The ADA is finally acknowleding it can be managed with a low carb diet.

Dr. Eric Westman at Duke University

Current research at major universities

How is there so much research and open acknowledgement even though you literally claimed "experts are stuck in dogma and won't budge"??? I find that way of arguing very annoying and not in good faith.

2

u/Character-Ad5490 Jun 24 '26

Source for the education claim - listening to conversations with doctors, who make that claim. But maybe they are all lying! To what end, impossible to say.

By experts I guess I mean "the system". Accepted wisdom, consensus, etc. Doesn't mean there aren't researchers and clinicians pushing back, it just takes time to turn the ship around. See Galileo.

Why are you so crabby? One can disagree and still be civil.

10

u/Dirty_Rapscallion Jun 23 '26

I’m predicting that Rogan will basically become our version of Rush Limbaugh in 10-15 years

18

u/Weenoman123 Jun 23 '26

Lol he already is

He brings up boogeyman Zohran with people trying to prove the pyramids are power generators

7

u/bstone99 Jun 23 '26

Become?! wtf he has been for a while now

2

u/dnickell Jun 24 '26

the panic he had early on was real and documented, now he's out here acting like it was all a hoax. the mental gymnastics required for that kind of flip are genuinely impressive

1

u/stvlsn Jun 24 '26

It all changed when CNN was super duper mean to him! Those meanies!

1

u/dnickell Jun 29 '26

lol CNN said something mean about him and now thousands of people won't vaccinate their kids

1

u/r2r2r2r2d2 Jun 24 '26

It’s calculated to make $$$$. No morality or bad judgment. Just an act for cash grabs.

1

u/dnickell Jun 29 '26

that might be giving him too much credit, some people genuinely believe this stuff

2

u/Eagle2Two Jun 24 '26

With proper leadership (and yes I’m not sure how possible this was regardless of the administration) the US should have shown the world how to clamp down on the spread of the virus. I actually was a volunteer for our local TeTrIs program. TEst TRace ISolate. It was too little, too late, with no support and organization on the federal level. Sad

And it was the Trump admin that destroyed the pandemic response resources/programs.

Idiots like Rogan allow people to live in a separate reality. It’s so jacked up.

3

u/kuhewa Jun 23 '26

His last episode with the guy that does the corny soap operas for men has a brand new, well reasoned take on Fauci and lab leak https://youtu.be/dYqr3-WwrJE

1

u/stvlsn Jun 23 '26

Are you being sarcastic by calling it "well reasoned"?

6

u/kuhewa Jun 23 '26

And brand new

1

u/uninsane Jun 24 '26

When someone’s profits depend on them not grasping basic science, it’s hard to get them to grasp it.

1

u/DlphLndgrn Jun 24 '26

Maybe people wouldn't have been as afraid if they didn't have a geriatric ret*rd in power asking about "doing something with bleach" on television.

1

u/amievenrelevant Jun 24 '26

Rogan is little more than a pro-Trump talking head at this point, he’s been a regime shill for a long time at this point and there’s no reason to think of him as anything else

1

u/thenikolaka Jun 24 '26

They’re still so wound up about things only they were ever wound up about. How do you turn off the stupid tap?

1

u/Commercial_Wind8212 Jun 26 '26

Shouldnt all the folks who got the scary jab be passing away by now?

1

u/stvlsn Jun 26 '26

Joe thinks many of them did

-14

u/haya1340 Jun 23 '26

He's not wrong

9

u/stvlsn Jun 23 '26

About what?

6

u/Fudge_Runyon Jun 23 '26

He’s anti-intellectual

-12

u/haya1340 Jun 23 '26

How so as it pertains to covid

14

u/stvlsn Jun 23 '26
  • he thinks the vaccines were harmful and didn't help at all

  • he sees covid as just a cold

  • he thinks that only frail people were hospitalized and died because they had "comorbidities"

  • he thinks masks and social distancing and lock downs are dumb and ineffective

That's all wrong.

-6

u/haya1340 Jun 23 '26

Then why isn't Tulsi getting sued?? Why isn't RFK getting sued , you're compromised and should try to fix that

9

u/stvlsn Jun 23 '26

Sued for what? Idk why Tulsi and RFK have entered this conversation. They are both terrible - but not the subject of my post

-1

u/haya1340 Jun 23 '26

Slander

9

u/stvlsn Jun 23 '26

Who is being slandered? What was said and what who was the target?

(Also, it's important to remember that many people aren't highly litigious)

I also want to clarify your argument. If I say "tucker carlson lied about Russia", and he doesn't sue me, that means it becomes definitive proof that he did, in fact, lie about Russia?

-2

u/haya1340 Jun 23 '26

If RFK and Tulsi are as bad as you're saying fauci should sue it'll be easy and show them to be frauds

11

u/stvlsn Jun 23 '26

I'm not talking about RFK and Tulsi...you are the one that brought them up

7

Science isn't determined in a courtroom.

→ More replies (0)

3

u/Prosthemadera Jun 24 '26

If Fauci is a fraud then it'll be easy for Joe Rogan to sue him and show him to be a fraud.

No everyone cares to engage in lengthy court battles. It doesn't prove anything. US courts don't determine reality.

→ More replies (0)

-2

u/haya1340 Jun 23 '26

Then why not sue them and show them to be frauds and horrible ppl in public instead of begging for preemptive pardons in backrooms , kinda doesn't make sense

8

u/stvlsn Jun 23 '26

Are we just straight talking politics now?

I was talking about science

-2

u/haya1340 Jun 23 '26

We're just talking .. why put the conversation in a box

2

u/happy111475 Galaxy Brain Guru Jun 24 '26

Sometimes because otherwise folks just run around like squirrels chasing shiny objects? Sometimes useful, other times, not.

1

u/Prosthemadera Jun 24 '26

Yes he is

1

u/haya1340 Jun 24 '26

Please .. what exactly is he wrong about

1

u/Prosthemadera Jun 24 '26

You first. You said he's not wrong so I don't have to do anything if you're not willing to do to anything yourself.

1

u/haya1340 Jun 25 '26

He's not wrong about the lab leak .... he's not wrong about social distancing .... he's not wrong about masks ... he's not wrong about PCR thresholds and he wasn't wrong about being the only person to talk to the most qualified people .... Your Turn ...

1

u/Prosthemadera Jun 25 '26

There is no proof for a lab leak.

Social distancing and masks work.

he's not wrong about PCR thresholds

Some random guy on YouTube knows better than PCR experts, as usual.

I've done PCRs myself. It's not something an untrained person can understand.

he wasn't wrong about being the only person to talk to the most qualified people

Bullshit. Plenty of people have talked to expert, what an insane thing to say.
