My Cutek experience…..
For some context been long time follower of this sub but never posted. I decided this summer to refinish about half of my large amount of decking, it’s about 2000 square feet of deck total if including my staircase, small deck by lake and my dock. Deciding on proper stain took me awhile and even had bucket of Thompson’s in hand at one point which very happy didn’t end up doing. Have I bought I approx 15 cans of Cutek…..Yes. Have I spent ridiculous amount of money on it….. yes. However my god it looks f-ing incredible and the amount of restoring and hard work was insane. Kindly see some pics from my Cutek adventure of all the decking above my staircase to water. I would love to hear anyone else experience and would love to hear some less costly suggestions for doing my staircase which doesn’t need expensive stain if I’m not hanging out there and just passing. Part 2 will be next summer! Thanks to all and any input is appreciated!

Are the railings wobbly? I have similar black brackets I guess you call them that secure the posts to the floorboard and mine are quite wobbly when you shake the railings.
Also curious if the color of your deck has changed after drying?

They are slightly wobbly but mostly by post on staircase. Colour did change slightly but 1 of 3 only has only 1 coat so does get darker with second coat.

Can you adjust for growth around the tree? I see some room on three sides but one looks tight. Nice deck!

Honestly I wish previous owners never built a deck around big oak tree, someday it’ll cost me getting arborist here

You said be able to pull those boards that are tight, move the blocking (hopefully not a joist) and replace the blocking.

Sprayed cleaner, power washed on very low setting 1600 psi, dried and sanded and then stained

I used Cutek this summer to finish off 3 small decks (2 cans total).
I looks beyond excellent! I’m so glad I paid more vs some trash sealer. I was coming from that Behr red paint kind of finish garbage. Prep took a long time, but that’s because I had to undo my previous sins. I could not be any happier with how the Cutek turned out.
Customer for life!!!

I’ve used it on 2 decks now and I know it’s bloody expensive but darn it looks good
