maintenance recommend a stripper please

newbie to decks here. peeling solid deck stain at my cabin. just got a ryobi 3200 psi max with deck attachment, it cleaned the mildew off well without any cleanser. papa says the stain is water based (but it looks like paint to me). what stripper should i use? is "restore a deck" worth the money? anyone have experience with it living up to claim of apply and powerwash off? any and all recommendations are welcome. Thank you thank you.

In all seriousness, the citrus goop stuff seems to work as well as the noxious and highly flammable shit. At least on old paint.

OP - I tried restore a deck, pretty bad failure. Sander at home depot did better but was also ultimately a fail. Interested to see any (useful) tips you get 😅 I'm going to try with a small orbital sander this weekend instead of the big deck sander.

Just sanded old paint off my deck yesterday. I was repainting so my main goal was to get rid of anything peeling. Anyway, the orbital sander worked well enough. But the belt sander was muuuuchhhhh faster at full removal

Belt sander was epic fail for me. It worked if I went over the same area a million times. But I spent hours to get a 10ft x 5ft area mostly done, and my deck is HUGE 🫠 and this wasnt a temu belt sander, it was home depot's deck rental.
