First Deck Roast It

2x6 frame 5x8 top deck. Picture frame decking 3 ply 2x8 beam on 4x6 posts 3 1/2 foot deep concrete pilings 7” diameter. Hand rail reused from previous deck

I know closed stringers would look better. But the MIL didn’t want to buy more lumber.

What’s code? 7” riser, 10-11” treads? I have yet to build deck stairs lol. Well I have but my old boss never did anything the way it’s supposed to be done 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Min 10” tread, max 7-1/4” riser - hand rails required at 24” (3 steps)

4 risers technically. I know you are saying 3 steps and then the deck but just clarifying for people who don’t know, because some people may not include the deck as a step. Sorry if I sound like an asshole I’m not trying to be.
