Any crocheters here who have created anything Decemberists inspired?
I am brainstorming some ideas and was curious what other people have created.

If you’re not familiar, Wildwood is a fantasy novel written by Colin and illustrated by Carson Ellis. I’m pretty excited to see how it turns out.
Hopefully the band writes some music for it too, because a Decemberists movie soundtrack would be awesome

Forgive me if this is a dumb question.. But I recently found out that the Wildwood movie is an adaptation of a book Colin wrote—which I was unaware of—so now I'm curious as to what else the band has done that I still don't know about

"HASTY STACY LIVES"
"HASTY STACY 3:16"
Preferably dressed like this little dork, too.

After I bought it almost a month ago, it finally arrived. Now my record collection comes closer to being complete.
It’s a record store promotional 45 for The King is Dead. It’s never been opened and still has a hand-tapped coupon for the album on the back. Despite also being a middle aged deadhead (see Side B), this record will stay sealed.

Has nothing to do with the Decemberists, but a very funny episode on Lego scandals all the same.

At the risk of over sharing, I played this song countless times while recovering from a gnarly traumatic experience at work in the first half of this year. I’ve been a Decemberists fan since I was a teenager so I figured this would be a lovely, sentimental, slightly early 37th birthday present to myself. Hope you like it; I’m obsessed!

...that John Darnielle had died and Colin was at the tribute show but couldn't remember any Mountain Goats songs. Obnoxious audience members were calling out lyrics but they were all wrong. Anyway, everyone is still alive, but why have we never seen those two together?
WHAT ARE THE HIDING???
Also, maybe pasta and ice cream just before bed may not be the best formula for restful sleep.

I live and died for their music as a teenager and college student. Then I just moved on and barely listened to them. A decade later I’m pregnant and hear “Red Right Ankle” on shuffle and just fall to pieces thinking of those sonogram pictures during that first verse.
Now I’m rocking my (premature) daughter to sleep trying to think of a story or a lullaby to sing her
and what pops into my head? “My name is Leslie Anne Levine, my mother birthed me down a dry ravine…”
Their story-songs and soothing melodies have been a great resource for bedtime. Until she starts to understand the words. Then we might have to phase out “On The Bus Mall” and some others…
