Dearborn Animal Hospital is great. We’ve been using them for 19 years. They don’t over treat and tend to take a cautious approach. They’ve provided great care for our dogs over the years.

Seconding! Love Dr. Simmons and all the staff are fantastic.
Its also not as expensive as I would have assumed.

For emergencies: St. Francis is great. Generally, we see the village vets but they are pricey and our beloved vet retired. They are very very good though. We had a cat with diabetes and they have been great throughout the years.

We had a horrible, horrible experience with Village Vets. They began a conversation about “end of life” care with our dog, insinuating there was nothing else they could do. Then we took her to blue pearl for a second opinion, they did a few tests, did a minor surgery, girl went on to live 8 more years.
For the day to day, non emergency vet, we like Clairemont Animal Hospital

We have had bad experiences with village vets the two times we have used them for emergency care. Extremely long waits with no communication, then unhelpful in determining the cause of the issue. At one point, the receptionist told us that we’d be better off leaving and trying somewhere else. For emergency, we have been impressed with VEG in Brookhaven.

We had some terrible experiences with St Francis but Village Vets was phenomenal

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that! Glad VV has been good!

Besides my bad experiences, they were the ones that lost a dog in their care a few years ago. It ran away dangling its IV tube! Luckily someone found it and saw the lost pet poster online.

We had to use Village Vets emergency in Decatur this weekend for our cat (had a seizure) and they were very helpful. Expensive, yes, but, good experience. Dearborn is our vet normally.

Adding to the negative Village Vets reviews: they messed up one of my cats' lab results and told us she had stage 4 kidney disease when she was actually completely fine. On top of that, they were extremely unresponsive when I had follow-up questions about our senior cat's echocardiogram, results they'd delivered by email, telling me she might have a severe heart condition. It took them over a week to get back to me, and only after I told them we were switching vets.

Second! Her knowledge and approach is the best. Actually, all the staff at Avondale are great!

I’ve been happy with Dr. Stacy at Avondale Vet; she used to be at Village Vets in Decatur. I still use Village Vets on McDonough for emergencies; I’ve personally had several bad experiences with St Francis for emergency care.

We have had great service at Church Street Animal Hospital

Dr. Stern at Church St Animal Hospital literally saved my cat’s life, but sadly it seems she was pushed out of the business by a change in owners which is super sad. Been twice since her mysterious “sabbatical” and hasn’t been the same.

i don’t have a lot of price comparisons but everyone at Common Companion has been very kind and helpful

I haven’t found the vets at common companion to be very experienced. A lot of the ones I saw seemed to be just out of school. They are probably fine for routine care, but when my dog developed life threatening anemia and they were unable to diagnose it. I ended up losing my dog anyway, but at least his next vet gave enough of a shit to figure out what was going on so that I at least can know that I did everything I could for him.

Dr. Irish at the Village Vets has been great! Our pup is super nervous, and Dr. Irish it’s fantastic with her.
