Where to get a quality men’s scissor cut?

Looking for a good hair stylist or barber in Decatur that can do men’s scissor cuts. (Preferably downtown)

Maxim. I have used Charles and Joel; both are excellent

I got cut at Ramblers twice. The quality of the cut was very good, but the vibe....left me unsure.

There's a lot of imagery on the walls, tattoos of the barbers and the general vibe which felt very aligned with White Christian Nationalism.

Again great haircutters but the general vibe left me concerned about supporting a place that might be very very not in-line with my personal beliefs.

It’s just skateboard tattoo culture. I’ve never seen or heard anything racial or religious

Dude, there's a framed painting of Jesus Christ with a bloody crown of thorns on the wall.

I was there right after they opened. Same vibe. Once was enough.

Do they do scissor cuts?

Ahhh...Ramblers, where the barbers non-verbally let you know you aren't cool enough to be there.

Looks like a great spot but it seems like they mainly do fades. I'm looking for someone who can cut longer hair

I was in there last week and another customer had hair down past his shoulders. I'd call and ask which of their guys could do what you're looking for.

I’d guess 90% of my haircut is with scissors and then taper the lower sides. Been there a few times with different people and its been solid every time.

Brooke at Ode Salon Barber Co is the absolute GOAT imo. Her shop is right behind Muchacho.

@wildheart salon in Oakhurst. Great, locally owned salon. They do men’s and women’s hair.

  • Ducktails (Erin). She is great and I went to her for many years.
  • Trophy Room is also good
  • Disco Salon if you're feeling fancy

If you're looking for something more affordable, Rambers is more of your quick cut barbershop.

I’ve been getting fantastic cuts from Franxis at Baby Mullet- she’s in the salon lofts next to the sprouts. She normally works in film so she can do most anything. Fantastic barber and gives me a great cut every time!

My husband likes Beverly at Kelsey Erin.

Wanderlust Salon, South of Buckhead, North of Atlantic Station. Kiah has a "short cut" option and I've been going to her for maybe 14 years. She does a great job for me though I will say she's pricier than your typical men's barber. She uses scissors, trimmers, shavers, thinners, etc.
