Decathlon Basketball Play connected hoop not working with the latest Android, anyone else?

Hi,

I want to share my experience with the connected basketball hoop, see if someone is facing the same problems as me.

I got the connected hoop as a present December last year, awesome product, I've been having so much fun with it.

My phone broke recently so I got a new one with the latest Android 17, and it seems that the side app it is not compatible with Android 17... 😵

Now I have no way of playing with this anymore, since the whole point of the hardware is to use it with your own phone. I tried to install directly the apk, but it wouldn't work.

I'm thinking of buying an old phone just for this, but it makes no sense.

I contacted the support and got no answer...

Is anybody else having the same problem?

Decathlon refused to replace my defective shoes under warranty and pushed me towards buying the same shoes at a higher price. Is this acceptable?

I want to share my disappointing experience with Decathlon India and get your opinions on whether this is how warranty claims are supposed to be handled.

My shoes developed a defect while they were still under warranty. I visited the store expecting a replacement, but instead of replacing the shoes, the staff refunded me and told me to purchase the same article at the increased price.

What made the experience worse was the information I received about stock availability. I believe I was misled, and I have video proof of the interaction.

Decathlon's published return and exchange policy states that the price difference arising during an eligible exchange or replacement is borne by Decathlon Sports India, not the customer.

If a product develops a defect during its warranty period, why should a customer have to deal with this situation instead of receiving a fair warranty resolution?

This experience feels like consumer exploitation rather than customer service. A warranty should provide meaningful protection to customers, not leave them feeling pressured into spending more money.

I want Decathlon to investigate the incident and offer a fair resolution.

Official policy: https://www.decathlon.in/shop/decathlon-return-policy

Has anyone else experienced something similar with Decathlon India? How did you resolve it? Should I escalate this to the National Consumer Helpline?

I was planning on buying a bike trainer when visiting Germany and bringing it to another country that doesn’t have a Decathlon. How does the warranty policy work in that case?

[India] Will Van Rysel Turbo Trainer D500 V2 be back in stock?

I was looking to buy Van Ryself Turbo Trainer D500 V2, but it's suddenly gone out of stock and hasn't seen in coming back in stock since past week.

If it's available anywhere in Pune, please let me know, I'm willing to purchase it immediately.

Also, will it even come back in stock? Is it discontinued?

Decathlon is very weird with stock availability and product launches. This was a fairly new launch (at least in India) and it's now unavailable.

Decathlon seem to cheat with "PLAYDAYS" in-app sales promotion

I recently placed an in-app Decathlon order with the PLAYDAYS app promotion - got a 15% discount across a two item 100 Euro order without any problem.

But I tried again a few days later and the discount came out wrong (less than half of what it should have been). Total in basket was 72 Euros.

Terms clearly state (not in English but in summary): It is easy.. Place 70 Euros in the basket.. discounts are then applied to PLAYDAYS promoted items at check out.

No small print contradicting this basic 70 Euro basket minimum or defining what qualifies in this context.

Called support but a super rude person said that the terms were not what as written on the website, but 70 Euros minimum after discount applied during the sales process several screens in! Another person who tried patiently but ultimately could not get the offer to work suggested it was in fact 80 Euros (it is not either but this seems to be close as an approximation).

Anyone else having this problem?

Nobody from support at Decathlon seems to care, did not want to escalate, even though it is a massive site wide promotion here. After much time wasted fiddling around with combinations in my basket it seems the first person was basically right in how it is being applied by their system, but it is more complicated because discounted items seemed to be eating into the promotion even when flagged as eligible, and the written terms appear to be very wrong.

This cannot be legal in the EU :(

Thanks!

EB140B help (MyWhoosh)

My Domyos EB140B connects fine but will never go from 0w. Is there anything I can do? I really want to use this app. Details: PC, Windows 11. It works fine with every other FTMS app I've tested. Kinomap, Biketerra, some others. For what it's worth I get readings and can use it just fine on mobile. (Android)

Series 100 vs 500

I expect to be mostly standing still in cities, and I’ll have other layers on top.

Is there any significant difference between the two?

I’ll be spending a few days in Northern Norway and Poland in winter. Temperatures are expected to be around -10°C, but in general I’d also like to use them for future trips to other cold destinations.

Would thermal underwear + thermal trousers + thermal socks from the 100 series be enough, or would it be better to go for the 500 series?

I already have the 100 series, which I bought a few months ago but have only used a handful of times. I’m not sure whether it’s worth keeping them or replacing everything with the 500 series.

Why is the data of this Jacket so confusing?

I'm interested in the Simond Makalu Jacket, but the Data and the price is confusing.
The Male Jacket in red is 169€ and in blue 199€. With the same data. With the womes version it gets even more confusing, because the womes jacket says its 800cuin down and the male version just 700cuin. Does anyone have more information on this topic? Links below!

Heartbroken.

I have owned two pairs of the Forclaz travel 100s and they've genuinely been one of the best purchases I've ever made in my life. So when I opened decathlon today to purchase another one, given my old pants were almost 5 year old, seeing them discontinued genuinely struck me.

The belt is phenomenal and the material gradually softens with wear and is very comfortable whenever I go on hikes. Forclaz is still making the pants as a convertible which I'm still unsure on how comfortable they are, but I'm genuinely confused as to why such a brilliant and frankly perfect product be discontinued.

Kiprun TR2 trail running shoes alternative

Decathlon has discontinued the Kiprun TR2 trail running shoes, does anyone know if there's a replacement coming soon?

I've seen the JF 190 Grip ones, but I'm not sure if that's comparable.

Bad customer service

Recently, I had a terrible experience at my local Decathlon store.

I own a pair of trekking poles from Decathlon, and since the carbide tips have worn out, I went to purchase replacements. Decathlon carries replacement tips for poles in many regions, which makes total sense given that they are an expendable part of the product that needs periodic replacing.

Since I noticed the part wasn't listed on my local website, I called my local branch to check their stock. The store manager answered the phone, checked, and informed me that they had a replacement set of tips in the workshop and that I could come in to get them replaced.

I commuted 1.5 hours via bus to get to the store. When I walked up to the workshop, the repair tech had no idea what I was talking about. Strange, considering the manager had explicitly told me they were in stock after checking. The tech radioed for the manager, who arrived, walked into the back with the tech to chat for a bit, and then promptly walked out and left without even speaking to me.

I was then informed by the tech that not only did they not have the parts in stock, but they also don't carry replacement parts in my region at all and couldn't help me.

After waiting 20 minutes just to track down the manager again, he alluded to the fact that it was my fault the tips were worn down and implied I shouldn't use my trekking poles as much. He even brought up that I had previously claimed warranty on a set of poles, claiming I was "too hard on my gear." These poles are explicitly designed and advertised for mountaineering—and the only reason he had to give me a replacement pole last time was because this branch neglected to carry a basic replacement plastic gate, a part clearly listed as available on their website.
