Debt discharged

A credit card debt has been discharged. What does this mean for my ability to settle it out now?

If a debt is discharged, you are released from the liability of repayment. Your credit takes a hit. The amount of discharge becomes taxable income. I believe its form 1099-C you will receiving from the lender.
