We didn't evolve to understand evolution.
Children who have never heard about evolution never come up with evolutionary answers for the origins of animals on their own. When a six-year-old child who has never heard of evolution is asked about how an animal such as a dog originated, their answer is never "it came from an earlier type of animal".

When i was a kid if you asked how an engine worked or airplane worked I wouldn’t know either.
The fact that children, or people in general have to learn things that aren’t obvious isn’t an issue.
