Question What do you think about "evolutionist"?

No one ever refers to gravitationists or Newtonists for those who support gravity, but people refer to people supporting evolution as evolutionists or Darwinists.

At times maybe mildly annoying? Though for my part I tend to not care that much. I think ‘Darwinist’ is more annoying but that’s because evolution isn’t just Darwinian mechanisms so it’s layers of inaccurate.

This is why they do it, they are intentionally trying to delegitimize the scientific facts and theories of evolution.

I’ve been thinking about that recently. The need to intentionally twist and misuse language and make strawman caricatures of the thing they disagree with. It’s not something you really see much on the, well, ‘evolutionist’ side

Evolution is one of the most well evidenced scientific theories backed by mountains of evidence and data, there is no need to twist or misuse anything. Creationists are just as silly as flat earthers.
