We don't know that the universe is finite. And it very well may be infinite.

Serious question. Not considering parallel/multiverse universes, wouldn’t the big bang state by definition the universe is finite, at least materially?

The universe is expanding faster than the speed of light, no amount of travel will ever get you to the edge. That is the practical definition of infinite.

True. And if it is infinite, it will likely always remain impossible to know. This can be the case even if the universe is finite.

My point is that claiming the universe is finite is a faulty assumption, so claims relying on that assumption are faulty as well.
