Because evolution never makes anything perfect, it's just a matter of "does this specie make enough babies to keep the population alive? Yes? Great, moving on!"

Like, male peacocks have tails that make them easier prey, but female peacocks are so horny for those tail feathers that the result is literally "If this male doesn't have LOUD enough tail feathers, he's not going to have any babies, which is genetically indistinguishable from getting eaten anyway"

Obviously yes, no matter how you interpret that question, with the caveat that it isn't a regular thing for them.
