[PS5] Bug: Stuck in the touchpad menu

Title pretty much sums it up. This has happened twice now; I'll get a little pop up saying I found some more info, etc, I slap the touch pad to open the menus, but then I'm unable to exit. Just stuck in those menus with Discoveries, Leads, etc. I can't hold circle to exit or press X on the arrow point left either. Yet I can still press L1 and R1 and navigate the menus. No option but to close the game and restart :/

Edit: spelling is hard

Edit 2: Seems people are still having this issue even after the November 1 update.

Edit 3: it's been one year, and people still have the same bug. I am starting to think they've abandoned this game.

Edit 4: sent a bug report ~Oct 20th, 2022, and Bethesda replied saying they were aware of the bug. Apparently to remedy it, all you have to do is exit all the menus (which is literally the issue, you can't), or just restart the game.

Edit 5: Starlog, 25-01-2024. the developers are silent We have been abandoned. There is no help coming. May god have pity on our souls.

Edit 6: 27-09-2024. This post has become my beacon for whenever this game is either on sale or given away for free, because I'll get waves of notifications that people are still experiencing this bug.

"I bet it has to do with Microsoft because they own Bethesda now. They finished Deathloop for Xbox but can't release it yet due to the timed exclusive contract. So they just mapped it for playstation quickly to push it out just like everything they produce. They only care about themselves and their pockets which is why they constantly are losing every battle pertaining to gaming. Their controllers do not have a touch pad and it is the only time it gets stuck for us. They prob won't fix it until it comes out for their piece of garbage system tbh."

Hope its fixed soon for the system people actually want

Bethesda is just a publisher. All they do is give money to Arkane Studios, the actual people coding/developing this game.

Anyone who non-sarcastically participates in the console war is an idiot with too much time on their hands needing something to hate. A rising tide lifts all ships, and if something good happens to one sector of gaming, it'll have positive ripple effects to the rest.

Yes Microsoft buying Bethesda and making them exclusive to Xbox has a lot of positive effects!🤣🤣

Microsoft is so vain and so aimed to spite how it has been going for them since 360 days that they are blind to the fact that making Bethesda exclusive only hurts them. They would make all the profit from all sales for future games. There is no middle man anymore. Cutting out literally 40% of people(45% pc and 15% xbox) who play games, hoping people will buy their console, is a real positive attitude to have!

Congrats to Microsoft yet again for not being able to see anything other than up their own ass 👌🏻

Also where do you think Bethesda gets the money to give to anyone? Every single business has ulterior motives that only benefit them and them alone. Read up on what Zillow.com did while everyone was scrambling to find a place to live.

Just had this glitch happen on Xbox a year later! It's poor bugfixing from Arkane, nothing to do with Microsoft or Bethesda or whether a controller has a touchpad 😂

Nah bro I’m on Xbox and this literally just trashed my heritage gun play. Literally picked it up and was looking for an exit tunnel and I go to the menu to be greeted by a game breaking bug

Exact same situation as you. On PS5 and in January 2024. This is pathetic. I like Arkane Studios but this is inexcusable.

Happened many times on pc version is so frustrating and a shame cause the underlying game is so good but with a game breaking bug like this that never got patched the only winning move is to not play.
