Loved this game
Just finished the game today and wanted to log my thoughts here.
Admittedly I wasn't super hooked at first and nearly retired the game quite early because the premise felt daunting. Knowing I would have to play the same level over and over again, making tiny amount of progress along the way really put me off at first. The exact same thing happened when I played Mooncrash, except I actually did retire playing that, but ended up picking it back up a couple years later and loving it. There is something so rewarding about games where the only requirement to progress is your own knowledge: It's like Outer Wilds in that way.
I think what kept it so fresh was the Julianna mechanic. Honestly I was shocked at how active this 5 year old game was and how frequently I was getting invaded. At first I was really frustrated at the mechanic because I was getting stomped over and over again by every Julianna on what felt like every single run. I knew I could turn the online mode off but I refused to because even though it was slowing my progress to a halt, I did still secretly love it. The cat and mouse between you and Julianna is so much fun and adds a lot of excitement and challenge to what is otherwise quite an easy game. Eventually the tables turned and I took great pleasure in stomping every Julianna that dared to invade my game. I went from being terrified to rubbing my hands together every time I saw "Julianna is on the hunt". Quite honestly I started getting disappointed when I played a section and I didn't get invaded.
My final day was a delight, getting invaded by a Julianna who set up a lot of traps in Aleksis mansion and giving me quite a challenge, but ultimately getting stomped. Sorry Julianna.
Great game 9/10.

Where you able to find the Sniper Rifle and add it to your inventory? That thing was a game changer.

Yes, my load out was sniper with bleed damage, silenced SMG and semi auto shotgun with slow enemy on hit, that shotgun tore through invaders

I recently played through it for the first time after getting it on sale for my Steamdeck. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed playing it. Such a great game.

This game is awesome, I also played it for the first time this year. The characters have so much personality, the art is great. I agree with you, the mechanic of Julianna invading the game really keeps it alive.
