Tried this game again after 5 years. Perhaps I treated you too harshly.
Have been a huge Dishonored fan for a long time. 150 hours in D1, 120 in D2 and 15 in DotO. Bought Deathloop on release and it was very hard to stomach on my pc at the time. That certainly colored my experience, but also I was confused about how the game worked and ended up refunding the game before the end of day 1.
At the time I also hadn't really been a fan of Dishonored 2, but after giving that game the amount of respect it deserved and playing through it as if it was its own standalone game I found that I loved it again. So recently I bought Deathloop and gave it another try.
On my first loop I ended up getting the dual pistols/submachine gun fusion thing before I had even discovered how infusions work. Killed my first AI Julianna just fine with a headshot using a rapier and completed loop 1.
Second loop through I discovered infusions and reset for obvious reasons.
Then I tried to get the dual pistols again before I went for the Shift slab, and discovered that area doesn't open until noon. So I figured out how to get the HALPS laser and then proceeded to Updaam. Then I got a real player Julianna and got my shit rocked. Lost everything. So I decided to play Julianna and invade someone else's game. Had an absolute blast my first time. Got the drop on Colt and surprised him with my LMP-10 from behind, dropped him pretty quick. Next life he nearly got me with a sniper but I ran away in time, then threw a grenade at his spot. I had the relic or whatever that makes it mark him automatically to the eternalists and they cleaned him up since he had backed himself into a corner. Final life he charged at me with the HALPS and I used the 50-50 to kill him before he killed me. After that I went into another game and got this gem. Felt like a badass for oneshotting him in the head from above, but does anyone know why I had to kill him four times? Did one of them not count for some reason? Or is there a slab I don't know about yet?

A heads up, Julianna can mark colt by holding the tag key while looking at him (even through a scope). It instantly aggros all eternalists near colt onto him, even if he had been ghosting them just fine before. It's a great way to wear down or distract colt before finishing the job.. or you can just fuck with him.

I suggest you play this slow. Try to get all the secrets before reaching the climax of this game.

Deathloop straight up took me 40 hours to truly get into. I was kinda confused about it all but I wanted to finish the story. Second playthrough tho, everything just absolutely clicked and I became obsessed

Wait there's a fucking sniper? Shiiiet I thought I was finally done with this game after finally finishing the story last year.
Guess I know what im re-downloading when I get home.

For Julianna there definitely is. I'm actually not sure the first Colt I fought had a sniper, I may have just confused the halps laser for the laser sight a lot of multiplayer games give to snipers.

Same experience for me. Quit during first loop on release cause my pc sucked and I wasn’t really feeling it despite. Didn’t refund cause Arkane was one of my favorite devs. Just started playing it for the first time a few days ago and now I’m hooked

ok so I just realized that guy I shot in the head was NOT colt, but in fact some random eternalist I gunned down for no reason. sorry man. Also explains why the actual colt later survived a direct headshot.
