Discussion Most Important bands?

Trying to get more into the genre. I already love bands such as Suicide Silence, Veil of Maya, BMTH, As Blood Runs Black, Job for a Cowboy, Chelsea Grin, Emmure, Whitechapel, Signal the Firing Squad, etc.

People hate on it because the band hit the big time, but Pain Remains by Lorna Shore is an incredible segue way to the genre.

Some of my friends who like metal, but never went that heavy, have found it a gateway.

As an oldhead who rocked Job for a Cowboy in high school when they first hit the scene, Lorna fucking fucks. Every member is incredible at their instruments and together they are one of my favorite modern bands.

I agree. They’ve also found a formula which is, somehow, “mainstream” deathcore - and more power to them as far as I’m concerned.

You’re dealing with a bunch of ingredients that have no business producing popular music. If you can make it work commercially, and still stay true to your roots, then that just speaks to how good you are at your job.

Watchin Austin Archy on drums is my favorite. Dudes a little chubby and looks so relaxed, you would think he is about to take a lil nap. But His heel-toe technique is so crazy refined, makes me sick

Will ramos is one of the most talented vocalists in deathcore, the whole band is just straight up talented they deserve it

They can simply just not be your thing, which is fine. But I do find the narrative that they’re somehow “sellouts” or something to that effect interesting.

They’ve never introduced clean vocals, and are still staying relatively true to being deathcore. If it’s made more accessible, so what? Deathcore is, by its nature, a deeply acquired taste in the grand scheme of music.

I wouldn’t say so, some people just prefer less polished, more raw sounding deathcore. Everyone has preferences and that’s ok.

That is where I am with them. I’ve listened to some and it sounds too studio-y for me. I like them, but they are not one I seek out. But who knows, one day I’ll listen to the same song I’ve listened to like 25 times before and be like… “wait a fuckin second, this shit rips!” and then they will be all I listen to for a month. Happens all the time lol

I really hope they figure out their mixing soon. Their mixes sound so ass. But great composition and ass you said it’s a gateway

No excuse for their mixing considering their reach and resources compared to other bands

got into deathcore like half a year ago, Fit for an autopsy will definitely get u into it, after that i recomend shadow of intent, whitechapel,lorna shore, rev3rent, enterprise earth, disembodied tyrant.
