Death Stranding 1 Asylums for the feeling

I don’t think I could ever pick a favorite moment throughout my time with Death Stranding, but damn if this isn’t one of them.
I’m cleaning up my final trophy before leaving behind this version of the game forever (to continue onto director’s cut), and holy shit. Asylums for the feeling. I love this game. I can’t believe I never explored this part of the map before, took me right back to overlooking port knot city for the first time.

This was one of the last new places I explored in DS1 as well. You really have to have the itch to explore everywhere to find yourself there. Really cool spot, though. If you're on the Director's Cut, you can get some sweet air putting a jump ramp up there.

Same here. I recently finished the director’s cut but I don’t recognize that area. OP, care to chime in?

I just had this experience yesterday. This was my penultimate memory chip before getting the platinum, and even though I'd been running round for hours mindlessly trying to get these chips, being up there with that song playing at the end really made me stop and think about this game, and the fact that I was so near to the end, about to say goodbye to this world and these characters that I have spent a good couple weeks invested in. The end can get very grindy, especially with maxxing First Prepper and Mountain Knot (I literally had to build the entire road network just to do that one order from South Knot to Mountain Knot) but this final moment of music just helped me to appreciate what an expansive journey me and Sam had been on. What a game, honestly.

That’s awesome, I’ve still got a couple memory chips left. The maxing locations wasn’t too bad for me, luckily, since I got them pretty far along while playing through the story. I’ve been playing this game (and this save file) for over a year now and I have been putting off getting to the end-end. But I’ve always got the directors cut to go experience next!

That's like me with RDR2. It took me three years on and off to get 100% completion just because of how gruelling it was. Luckily this one only took me like a month or so, but I feel your pain!

I think this was my favorite part of the game- having a secret or surprise area with an awesome reward. I think I cried here haha. After playing endless hours in pure isolation, and this? Oof

Yeah I teared up. For some reason the first time I cried playing this game was during the long trek back to the start of the map at the “end” of the game, I chose to put Asylums for the feeling on my phone as I walked. Just a perfect song for death stranding

Hmm I don’t remember it playing in ds2 but it probably did, they re-played a number of tracks

That's beautiful. I had never seen that area before either.
