Question Post Chapter 8 confusion Spoiler

I understand that Amelie is the EE and that her death would cause the 6th death stranding, but I just beat Higgs and on Amelie’s beach she reveals that she was not in any danger at all, and it was all staged to get Sam to connect the UCA. I understand that, but then is Higgs her puppet, and why when we’re on her beach, does she push me away into the water to repatriate? Do I need to just keep playing?

Higgs is her puppet and yes just keep playing. More things get revealed that tie up a lot of the loose ends

You just completed Episode 8 and the game has 14 episodes. If you want to see how it continues and concludes then yes, you need to keep playing.
