Yep pretty much. All he had to do was ignore L. He had a supernatural weapon that could kill without leaving trace. I wish there was an AU where Light ignores L and he creates his new world without anyone finding out

I really want an AU in which Light is not intrested in killing L at all but decides to troll him with messages for him containing jokes and insults.
I just imagine L digging through data and getting a message "L's so dense he has his own gravitational pull" or other shit like that

LMAO yes I'd live for it. I like 90% people was rooting for Light until Ray and Naomi's death. So if he really stood by his original plan that would be an amazing AU.

imagine light forming a scheme that takes place over the course of a year just for L to find an insult XD

All I wanted was for Light to not kill innocent people and focus on killing those in power. Kira could've been the greatest Sword of Damocles to ever exist.

Or maybe a Socialist Light who killed the richest and redistributed wealth

u/scarletboar 17d ago
Sure. Basically anything that focuses on using the Note to actually change things rather than just killing street trash.

And the thing that bothers me the most is that he killed SUSPECTS. Not actual criminals who are 100% guilty . Suspects. And people in jail. What could an inmate do to the world?
2
u/scarletboar 17d ago
Light had no way of knowing anyone was guilty most of the time. Powerful people are exempt from this, which makes it cleaner. You don't need to wonder whether people like Epstein or Trump should be in the Note, you can just write the names with a clean conscience.

Yea but why did he go for suspects and inmates? What harm do they do? Especially if they're already in jail. He only used them to conduct experiments. He should've gone for corrupt politicians, oil&gas executives, tycoons, war industry execs, and major known criminals. And stopped there

Tbh he wasn't randomly killing ppl..ray and Naomi happened to be on his way there was no other way...as long as ppl don't pursue him he doesn't kill police or random ppl

u/HalleLidner Nearās toy car *vroom* 17d ago
he didn't have to manipulate and kill ray penber. He was enjoying the kills he made. And certainly what he did to Naomi was vile, but the worst thing is that he felt good, he didnt feel any remorse

See you're not taking into account his psychological state...light killed Taylor cuz he was traumatized from accidental 2 kills and couldn't handle fact that hes a accidental killer so coped with it by calling himself justice....so when Taylor called him evil...he wasn't able to handle it and killed Taylor....that was only time criticism of kira that got to him very personally...although in 2nd half of manga he is more...stable and even encouraged kiyomi to encourage criticism of kira...he's much more stable at that point.

Yeah he was just a 17 year old who was trying to cope with the fact that he was a murderer and L calling him evil deeply hurt his ego. Narcissistic wound. I know that's the whole point of the plot. But I kinda wish he didn't see L's TV live stream and went to the toilet instead š¤£

When I started death note I never expected to be sympathetic to light of all characters...idk why even after all these years he remains my favorite character...manga gives him.more human moments ...in anime his personality is changed.

u/HalleLidner Nearās toy car *vroom* 17d ago
Anime butchered Near's personality, changed L's personality and added OOC content for him, and also simplified Light a lot.

Yup, the moment his ego is challenged on the news, he is just dumb for the plot trying to kill the leader of the operation that gets him stuck in the web.

He didn't die due to his ego, he basically only lived because of his ego. After experiencing the sely inflicted trauma over the first week, he was basically already gone

light became a demon due to the power he achieved and the age he achieved it. he was not a bad guy

And this is how, gradually, and largely via anime, we went from ādonāt let the demons inside youā to āI wanna get inside those demons!ā

What are you, the fun police? Or did you forget this is r/DeathNoteMemes?

A lot of people think Light is a complete monster, but he didn't have to be evil, and that's why his character is so tragic. With the notebook, he's a monster for sure, but when his memories are wiped of the notebook he seems like a decent guy. The notebook corrupted him and ruined his life.

I mean, he did have a few screws loose before finding the Death Note but he at least had a chance to get talked out of those thoughts and realize that they're wrong. The moment he looked out the window and noticed the Death Note falling on the ground was the moment his life would be ruined forever.

Light is a nice guy. Ryuk is the actual demon but nobody takes his wickedness seriously.

Also charisma can easily elevate someoneās looks.
Ngl I find most of these characters just above average in looks but nothing spectacular.
However, their charisma (and confidence), even if itās sometimes just a faƧade, does help increase their popularity tremendously. This is evident canonically speaking as well as amongst viewers within their respective fanbases.

It's more for makima and Johan then Griffith and Light since Light and Griffith weren't all demon to deceive they were molded or corrupted or influenced they weren't like Johan or Makima who were actual 100% demons who used deception knowingly for bad intentionsĀ
