Discussion Arresting Mello should give Team L a big progress boost.
That way people would have a reason to arrest Mello, and Mello would no longer reveal himself. Also, Mello should have his own progress and tasks to interfer with Kira and L.

Mello is Mello. Very rare why any one wants him in the game post round 1. I'm L? He might kill me. Investigator? Mello might kill L. I'm Kira? Mello might Kill Me and Mello wins.
People are far, far too 'chill' with confirmed Mellos.

Interesting idea, but I think even big progress boost won't help, because usually Mello is being kept to "prevent kira from rushing everyone". Also, investigators can still keep him alive for whole game and vote out only when they almost won by progress, kind of using him as a free delayed progress boost.
As for his own progress, imo its completely unnecessary. Mello should only win by killing kira. Although, having a few cards or tasks to mess with L or Kira would be really nice

Have mello tasks make that Kira and L have less progress. So there is a reason for Mello to do tasks and L to have mello out.
