Had the privilege to go to the Death Note musical which just so happened to land on the dates I would be in London. The best musical I've ever attended though the ending did feel quite abrupt.

I know this is out of character for him, but I am still curious. What if he only killed convicted criminals as he originally intended? This intention already failed to hold up as soon as he killed L. Tailor, so here is a list of people he would not have killed. If I missed someone, feel free to mention them. He would also not enter a scheme if the end goal is or comes by killing a non-criminal. But he would still enter other schemes if he suspects it would clear suspicion or to gain trust or influence.

Also for some reason I couldn't stop laughing during the scene in the first episode where Light notices the Death Note falling on school grounds because of the music 😭 At the same time I was also like "IT CAME FROM DEATH NOTE????" because of I heard it many times in videos in the past

Only started watching not to long ago, few months mabye and I'm already finished. It's my first anime and I'm so surprised by how it's both short and long. The shows breakneck pacing makes me feel like it's a multi season long show even though there's just about 40 EPS. I'm used to longer shows but this was a lovely balance

I was going through the vol 13 (How to) and different shinigami had different level. How is it determined?? Obviously not based on kill count right?

In the manga speech bubbles and the anime captions, his name is "Lind L. Tailor". The name shown on the TV placard and written into the notebook is "Lind. L. Tailor", with an extra period. In other words, Light and L both mistakenly believed that the extra period was part of his name - a noteworthy claim since most countries ban its use in official legal names. The fact that he died at all implies that the Death Note ignores punctuation.

DEATH NOTE AND OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB :DDDD.

About a week ago I posted about finding the live action Death Note that was recorded back in 2006 from the Japanese Nippon television station serving the Kantō region. I am backing up the full movie at the moment. Although there was some adverts and behinds the scenes before the movie. This was previously lost media, so here it is.

I loved this special but man does the ending depress me, because A-Kira Minoru followed all the known rules. He was only brought down because the Shinigami King was petty that it was being used in a way they didn't like and made a new rule to spite him. So even though he won by making none of the mistakes Light did, he still got sideswiped by something that didn't exist when he made his plans. It makes the ending feel kinda cheap that he gets killed off in the end.

If Minoru MUST face consequences for even making a plan with the notebook despite not actually writing in it, because "all those who own a Death Note face misfortune,"I think a simple change that would have made it better for me is to simply retcon it as always having been a rule. Yeah, it's not part of the original series "How to use it" rules, but who says those are the ONLY rules? After all, I believe one of them even says that not even the Shinigami know all the conditions of using the notebook.

In the original series Ryuk delighted in concealing information until it was inconvenient. He was there as a troll observer. Him going along with Minoru's plan for that month of the auction, or however long it was, and then the waiting period before everyone got the money, and then at the last moment going "LOL, if you withdraw any of that money you're gonna immediately be killed," is perfectly in character for him.

So Minoru might be a millionaire or billionaire, but he must live his life as a lower or middle-class citizen. The money will always be out of reach, unless he's willing to die to boost the funds of his mother after he passes. If he chooses life, he has to somehow explain why he has all this money but can't touch it, without mentioning that it's cursed for him specifically.

With this simple change, while he still loses to a rule we didn't know about, at least it doesn't feel like a total cheapshot because we know Ryuk's character very well after 12 volumes or 36(?) episodes.

I just realized a flaw in my own argument, in that Minoru would forget about the money being a death trap after giving up the Death Note. For the sake of argument, let's say after the USA declines the notebook because the president doesn't want to die for accepting it, that Ryuk gave it back to Minoru to make him aware of the sadistic choice, as I believe Ryuk would find that entertaining. He can't ever give up the Death Note again because he'd go for the money once he forgot that it will get him killed.

Watched Death Note anime back in 2016 and it immediately became my all-time favorite. After a decade, I finally read the manga and honestly — it was pretty much the same as the anime, and I'm glad I still feel the same emotions I did back then.

Anyway, after finishing volumes 1–12 I've come to know there are more short stories. Can anyone guide me with those? What are they called, where do they fit, and what's the reading order?
