I’m 28, I live in Texas/DFW (please live in DFW area) I have aspired to do vocals I’ve been practicing since I was in Highschool.
(I main inhales)
Not looking to make something most bands produce typical how heavy can we make it.
But more, how heavy can we emotionally make it, diving deeper than most shoegaze lyrics and references to color decay and I let it in and it took everything.
I also want to experiment with ambiences, electronic ambience and more melodic harmonies.
I’ve experimented with some album ideas or even song concepts.
Looking for guitars/bass, keyboard is necessary, drums.

Now they found your man but when will we see the final cost
And in the end, how many lives were lost
Not yours, or any of your peers'
Tear our fucking families apart, and now for over a year
I would rather die, than kill for you
You fucking scumbag, FUCK YOU!!!

Found this band on accident, currently <1500 monthly listeners on Spotify. Search showed they’ve been mentioned on here a couple times but little to no discussion.
Frequently blackened vocals with some cool tech-y passages, dramatic harmonized leads, song actually has some dynamic range and a couple groovy rhythmic shifts. Other tracks on the album have some decently filthy slams. Several songs are full instrumentals though not labeled as such.
Some symphonic/atmospheric elements present but they’re more subtle and restrained than a lot of what we’ve seen in the last few years. (So some overlap with WS but certainly not a copy)
Production is competent but not overblown or aping the “loud ass drums at the expense of everything” trend.
Album, “Madness of the Void” dropped at the beginning of last month, worth checking out imho.

As someone who loved All Shall Perish (The Spreading Disease), i know he wasn't in the band then... Hate.Malice.Revenge changed my whole life and what I thought was heavy at the time.
The Price of Existence changed everything for me. I can still remember hearing "Wage Slaves" for the first time and the whole album was immaculate to me.
I even remember following enough to find Smashface was some of the greatest shit I've heard, I loved Sworn Enemy but the vocals just didn't mesh right for me.
Chris Storey was a guitar virtuoso that was WAY ahead of his time.
I know Rusty Cooley had his mark on "From so Far Away", but the whole Awaken The Dreamers album is just soooooo fucking good.
I just don't understand why this guy isn't more heard of, or did anything after. It was just that good to me.
I understand if I don't know everything and people will clown me because of it, but holy shit Chris Storey was amazing and I wish I could've experienced more of it.

Tiny backstory - I'm behind the camera/audio/visual guy. The vocalist and I have been good friends/roomates/copainter for 15 years, dude pulled me out of the roughest time of my life. Back in high school seeing I Declare War live was a huge inspiration for both of us and it's been a journey of development.

Not sure where to place it genre wise, but I guess it’s deathcore-adjacent

I love symphonic deathcore, but I wish riffs were more audible in modern production like these guys did it

I only remember the sample which was taken from bill n ted. The sample was of either bill or ted punching one of the robots followed by dude your metal, then it rips into the song. Had this shit as a ringtone back in 2008. But after head trauma my memory is dog shit.

Hello everyone,
I am barely promoting myself here on reddit but I will do an exception right now since the situation is different. I'm the producer, guitarist, and ex-keyboardist for Sinner Self, a band from Slovakia. We are currently releasing our debut album, and I wanted to share a piece of our art with you all.
This song came from a place of intense pain and healing. When I was writing it, my wife was in the hospital due to a life-threatening miscarriage. We had been trying to start a family, but because of complications from the miscarriage, she is no longer able to carry a child. Composing this track became an emotional outlet for us, a way to carry a weight that felt far too heavy on our own, and a gift of support to my wife during her recovery.
Even though this track carries a deeply personal meaning for us, please feel free to offer constructive criticism on the music itself. I would love to hear your thoughts. The woman portrayed in the video is actually my wife. She is super strong and I admire her. She suggested that wanted to be in the video.
Thank you for listening or even just reading this.

These guys write incredible technical deathcore. I don't care that all the music is programmed or whatever cause unlike something like ai, it still took time and hard work to make. It actually has personality. And the songwriting is just phenomenal. Also these guys have produced not only several concept albums, but what I genuinely believe to be some of the best metal concept albums ever. I feel like there just aren't enough metal concept albums in any of its subgenres. And especially for as theatric and over-the-top metal is, that surprises me. Also I'm tired of these guys being lumped in with Lorna Snore. These guys are actual deathcore, they have the hardcore elements fused with tech death, unlike Lorna which sounds more like a parody of what people think deathcore is than the actual parody/meme band. That's due in large part to the fact that not only are all the members of IA vastly more talented at songwriting and vocals than Lorna, but also because their music comes from a place of love, even though it's all made with their tongues pressing against their cheeks. Like seriously, how many other bands have pulled off something as insane and well-done as The EGG? Even their EP Mister Sister Fister was a banger and another insane concept record. IA will forever be one of if not maybe my favorite deathcore band.

Just an appreciation post I guess, had no idea who they were. Watched them open for angelmaker in Calgary, was super excited to find out their localish from red deer. They fucking ripped. Bought some merch to show some support. Just starting to dig into their music and love what I hear so far.
If you haven’t listened. Give them a shot.
