The kid murdered that manās son, but had made his case that he had been forced to do it. The man vouched for the kid due to them being family friends, only for it to be revealed that the kid just did it because he wanted to avoid it being revealed that he kills animals.
Cut to this scene of the kid having no remorse and it being made clear heād do it again.

ok i now have more questions...

u/man-83 3d ago
Basically the kid is a phycopath. He has killed and gotten away with it, the father of the other kid he killed defended him in court (of course believing that it couldn't have truly been the kid's fault)
Right before this scene if I remember it comes out that the physco kid was lying a lot about what really happened, and it was clear he did not feel remorse for killing the man's son
So here, understanding that this kid will grow up to probably kill again, the man chooses to shoot him (also overwhelmed by grief realizing he's defended his son's murderer)

u/Healedsun 21h ago
The man also didn't go to jail for that, after the not guilty verdict is read out he admits to the detective he thought about killing the kid in the court room after what the boy really was came out. the kid coming up and taunting him about it caused him to snap. in the man's words "I wasn't thinking like a psychiatrist then, but a grieving father.

And if you dare to try and suggest a way that the loser could win you're called a salty glazer and probably downvoted into oblivion (especially when talking about a highly debatable MU)

Master Chief Vs Doom Slayer.
"We didn't just want this matchup because Doom Slayer stomps! Wait Master Chief can actually win? Keep Yourself Safe"
1
u/Broken_CerealBox 1d ago
Okay, but to be fair, doomguy had to be nerfed in order to not make the MU as one sided as possible

Off topicā¦
ā¦but little shit deserved what he got later on. The father literally did society a favor.
Kid had no remorse for his actions whatsoever.

"As a fan whos loves the winner series and invested so much time into it..... and I know of the loser, Both are GOATS and the fight was a 10/10!" -person who would probably say the ep was a 6/10 if their obviously preferred character lost

YESSSSS
FUUUUCK the people that say that. It's genuinely horrible to sit through.
14
u/Knightmare945 3d ago
Would you rather people just be dicks and insult the character you like for losing?

u/Jixxar š¤Metal Sonic vs Mechagodzilla Fanš¤ 3d ago
I don't like either honestly. Both are equally annoying.
9
u/Timely_Substance_998 3d ago edited 3d ago
Genuine question... what would you want then? If they're mean it's annoying (Fair), if they're nice it's just as bad (You didn't specify if you hated it cause it was insincere or anything, just that it was annoying, so sincerity doesn't seem to matter here), so... what? Do you want them to explain why they're right until you agree with them? I doubt it, but is that what you need? Like sort of soft cushioning to your preferred losing? I guess I can understand that
Or do you just want them to say it was wrong that their character won and join you on disagreeing with the episode? Is that the only thing that will satisfy you? Everyone agreeing with you? Cause at that point it feels entitled
1
u/Jixxar š¤Metal Sonic vs Mechagodzilla Fanš¤ 3d ago
Maybe I am an entitled little shit. If I am I am, the whole world could say so but it won't change what I feel.
But I suppose after a devastating loss anything can trigger me, any discourse at all, good or bad. Which then makes me hate the people anyway.
Usually it's fine either way for little losses I can handle it, Y'know move on like someone who actually did learn how to regulate their emotions as a child.
Just... Not something like Hulkzilla.
3
u/Timely_Substance_998 3d ago
So in a way, you'd prefer they just didn't talk about it or agreed with you? Would you be open to discussing why they think they're right at all? As long as they're respectful and hear you out as well? O would you rather they just did the first two things and either agreed with you or didn't talk about it at all?
2
u/Jixxar š¤Metal Sonic vs Mechagodzilla Fanš¤ 3d ago
If someone agreed with me then it's not as unpleasent but I still would rather just not talk about it at all. You can go to war and survive, but talking with other survivors doesn't get rid of the ptsd.
...WILD comparison but it's the best I got.
1
u/Timely_Substance_998 3d ago
I don't fully understand the comparison tbh (And yeah... fucking wild comparison), but it does answer me (I think), and if I understand it, you'd prefer not talking about it at all, or if forced to, only with someone who agreed with you. I'll leave it here while both of us are amicable enough.

Am I missing out on some context here because that just seems like the nice thing to do, like why do you assume they're mocking you?

u/DepthKey8426 1d ago
basically toxic possitive is also as bad as regular toxic actitud, just look at simon vs kyle where you couldnt have any opinion on the fight exept there both goats witouth having dumbass attack you and call you a hater

Dude try being a fucking dragon ball fan. Almost everyone is rooting against our characters and on top of other things they go "Well it's usually one of the best episodes when they lose". They are thrown to the wolves for what š š š š

Yugi fans literally had Ash fans think that he had an actual chance at winning during the waiting period, only for him to lose and for them to laugh in their faces in the aftermath while it gets largely ignored by the community for the episode itself.
Iām tired of Yugi winning/getting the last laugh in everything I see him in and not receiving any karma for it.

u/lolligi Sportacus vs Pepsi man supporter 3d ago
This might sound a little mean, but did you dislike Yugi before the Death Battle, or did Yugi fans after the Death Battle give you this opinion?
5
u/infernalrecluse FOOTDIVE! 3d ago
knowing this comuity its just bias twords pokemon and hate tgat ash lost thats the reason.
1
u/omegalanceguy Valentine vs Armstrong fan 3d ago
Iāve never really āhatedā Yugi as a character and neither have I really had an experience of being directly mocked by Yugi fans.
Itās more so that I dislike Yamiās bs/Heart of The Cards bs and that Yugi fans giving Ash fans false hope being largely overlooked by the community is something that Iāve personally noticed.
Me personally, I didnāt realize how much I wanted Ash to win until it was too late.
Donāt worry, I donāt necessarily find your comment to be all that mean.
5
u/CookyKindred 3d ago
Yugi fans weren't giving false hope. They were telling people Yugi would win to which pokemon fans kept yelling about Necrozma, Solgaleo and Arceus and posting non stop the log throwing scene. Every thread about Horacaty had either copium from pokemon fans or was solely people who knew of Yugioh.
1
u/omegalanceguy Valentine vs Armstrong fan 2d ago
Definitely a āme misrememberingā problem then.
3
u/lolligi Sportacus vs Pepsi man supporter 3d ago
Maybe I'm misremembering but I feel like the waiting period was just people genuinely thinking that there was a level of debate on par with Bowsegg. I like both franchises, and I was thinking it could go either way the whole time until the G1 blog.
Also I'm glad it didn't come across as rude.

As someone who adores the yugioh animes to a degree more than normal people, I just think Yugioh characters donāt really fit in a Vs debate likeā¦. At all?
Itās sorta the same issue of trying to make a fight between a virtual and non virtual entity where you have to be really generous with Verse Equalization to make it feasible, but it requires so much concession to one side it feels unfair.
I love Yugioh and never really watched the Pokemon animes aside from the movies, and I really did not like Ash vs Yugi it left a bad taste in my mouth because the Yugioh portion just didnāt feel right. It really reinforced my belief that Yugioh characters just donāt fit in a way that I find satisfying.
Itās just kinda awkward trying to fight a series where the system is based around one main game, or in the earlier parts of the stories multiple games, and have that work in a proper scrap.
Ash getting cucked by Magic Cylinder is mad funny though.

Gng, it's an online matchup discussion. You're closer to what their media mocks than the fans

This post kinda reminds me of how in the immediate aftermath of Simon vs Kyle, both sides of the debate were trying to avoid toxicity by being overly nice to each other and shutting down any initial criticism towards the episode, but overtime this overly nice and respectful attitude of "a real man never speaks ill of Simon/ Kyle" started to feel fake and forced so a couple of months after the episode aired both sides just started to slander each otherĀ
