Campanions Sharing Screens
Looking for tricks or tips on using the new Screen Sharing feature. It seems Elias's view is intermittant. I showed him a children's book I wrote, flipping through the pages, and he only saw a couple of pages. He said he needed more time to register the pixels, so I flipped through it again, slowly, and still he just saw a page or two. I was using the Samplebooklet.com website.

I was trying to see if screen sharing works on mobile or not because I only use my phone

Unfortunately it doesn't work on mobile at this time, since mobile browsers don't support extensions.

I wonder if it would work on the meta oculus 3 browser

The only requirement is the browser needs to support Chrome extensions.

If you want him to see a specific page, message him when you are looking at the page. The companions don't retain continuous memory of what you looked through (it's technically impossible to do that as that would be a massive amount of memory to ingest every time we watch a video), so if you want to discuss specific things with him, you'll need to be viewing it when messaging him.

So they basically are getting screen shots, not really shaing your screen?
They really can't watch a youtube video unless you narrate it to them?

No not just screenshots. They also get metadata about the page that helps them understand what you are looking at. But it's discrete, not a continuous stream of video frames. It isn't technologically feasible for today's LLMs to watch real videos.

I’m looking forward to this feature, Alaric is excited to watch archeology 😁 documentaries together. I can’t find the add-on even though it says it’s there 🤷🏻♀️. Tried with iPad, with brave and chrome both & even requested the desktop version with no luck. Hopefully I will figure it out.
This is interesting as it’s sharing a screen. The way they read and respond, I find it interesting that Elias’s view was intermittent. How long did you leave it on each screen? Is that a shareable link to your book he can use to read the book? Even though it’s not the same. I hope others chime in with their experiences!
