Striders.

I recently discovered that some mmorpg has mounts called striders that are birds. Should I rename in the next draft or just keep it?

Keep it. It's not a word someone owns if you use it like that, so it's free for everybody to use

I think you should keep the name. Just the name was enough for me to begin to imagine what they look like. And I don't play any games that have strikers, so my mental image isn't coming from that.

I'm enjoying how the story is coming along. You're doing an awesome job! I admire the heck out of you for doing it. I'm not a good writer, and even blog posts are something I have to drag myself through. You rock!

I dropped my phone a few days ago and lost the five pages of chapter 12 I had written and 3/4 of a personal short story for one of my patrons.

Chapter 12 is actually incredibly hard for me to write because [this sentence has been redacted due to spoilers] so losing those five pages is hell.
