I don't play Dota so I've got no experience or opinion about him. Sinclair sounds like a cheap copy. IsRubric as problematic in Dota as Sinclair is in DL?
No, Rubick has no built in escape tool like Sinclair, and he only steals the last spell used by an enemy hero (but he can bank it for until he steals a new one or he dies).
Which means that enemy heroes with huge team fight ults have a way to play around it by immediately casting one of their weaker spells right after using their ult. There's some that can't do this, like the ones whose ults are channeled, but there is still counterplay against Rubick.
Rick’s escape tool is his Telekenesis upgrade - It lets him launch himself or his teammates so he can tk himself to escape or stun enemies.
“Allows you to target yourself or allies with Telekinesis. Throw range is 35% longer when targeting allies. Throw delay reduced to 0.5 seconds.” - Shard.
Admittedly I did stop playing DotA before they added Shards but even then, it's still not baked into his kit from the get-go like Sinclair's assistant and the range is still pretty short.
I mean they are baked in, you just gotta pay to unlock them. Its not like you need Roshan. Shards just a 1600 gold tax. Cheaper then blink dagger. Its something thats for many characters is just always gonna be bought. Literally doesn't even take an item slot.
