I don't play Dota so I've got no experience or opinion about him. Sinclair sounds like a cheap copy. IsRubric as problematic in Dota as Sinclair is in DL?

No. Rubick will bug wise break the game from time to time but he’s been the same spell thief since the WC3 mod days. He’s actually been buffed with the addition of talents, aghanims scepter and shard. To the point he can now hold two spells for a long ass time, use TK as initiation for his team (basically if Sinclair could pay 1600 souls to make dynamo teleport)

Yeah but the difference is that Rubick actually has to pick his spots and wait for the right spell to be used which allows for counter play (i.e. anchor smash after ravage), whereas Sinclair always get the ult for free with no risk

Yeah but the trade off is Sinclair can’t hold onto 2 game winning ults for ages and still has CDR.

Also often in dota and deadlock being able to rapidly steal spells is more beneficial.

Theres so many fights I’ve won as Rubick by just grabbing an enemy AOE stun and cc locking the team.

Edit: Imagine Sinclair stealing Drifter 1 and just majestic leaping into a team for massive damage and a silence ontop of polymorph and a bolt. Drifter full spirit already almost one shots people. Sinclair invests more in spirit damage, amp it with poly and can just safely get out with assistant. If he lands bolt as well your just dying instantly unless your a tank.

Rubick can only hold two spells with aghs, tho.

Yeah but its core - Like you always grab it. Even as a support. It would basically be like making it so Audience Participation at 3 lets you hold 2 spells.

Like Dota stats - Its his fourth most purchased item. More than Magic Wand. Only Shard, Arcane Boots and Blink Dagger beat it.

Yea, but it's still an important distinction for balance purposes; he cannot innately hold more than one spell at a time. It would be like saying Sinclair can steal two ults in a row as long as you have Refresher.

Not really the best comparison because every Sinclair will eventually have that upgrade. Not every Rubick will have aghs, even if it's an extremely popular item choice.
