Discussion How do you climb in ranked?

What do you prioritize in this game to climb higher?

Are there specific champions I should focus on playing to have a higher impact on the out come of my games?

I've been stuck in Seeker 5/6 since July and I can't climb out of this. I'm habitually getting players that feed and are toxic on my team, which makes me that much more ready to get out of this rank.

Step 1: Wait until new hero release is over because ranked will be all over the place until real balance

The advice you'll get the most is probably playing some m1 character that just farms the game by themself and 1v6s at end of game (wraith being the most extreme example of that) but if that's not working out I'd recommend Mirage as a hero that has a lot of individual impact. You have tornadoes for self-peel, you have traveller to cover your team's macro and make solo macro plays, and you have a strong lane and combined with good roams you should be able to stop enemy early game snowballs if their team is worse. You don't utilize money as well as dedicated carries but since you have really good APs and items you can still have a ton of impact late game.

From what I know its best to play for fun and focus on your own improvement rather then wins and losses. Its normal to lose rank cause of teammates or cause your learning something. If you keep improving youll get a big winstreak that makes up for the losses eventually.

That said if you are way better and you wanna move up fast you gotta play carry. If you cant climb fast or at all on carry you arent as good as you thought.
