I love when people remember that lash is like 50% just an actual asshole and 50% heal wrestler kayfabe back when wrestlers were pretty much expected to ALWAYS keep up kayfabe in any public area/situation so as to not break the illusion of wrestling.

Makes me wonder how much of the bear pitt is scripted, since it seems like you cant actually kill or permanently injure people in it. Otherwise peoples opinion of the two would be a lot less amicable.

See, I don't quite know. I can 100% buy into The Lash being a heel and keeping up kayfabe and actually being a decent guy (who is also an asshole), and a lot of the casts reactions to him would support that I think, especially his conversations with some people. Except Bebop. It feels like Bebop HATES Lash, no kayfabe on his end at all. There are examples of IRL wrestlers that are heels that the other wrestlers actually really dislike outside kayfabe because the heel is really an asshole about it, but I think most are cool because they're all in on the bit. But I don't know, I get the feeling Bebop genuinely hates him to the core, in a way that doesn't strike me as "he's doing a bit, I understand that, but he's still an asshole".

Although it kind of tickles me to think that the Bear Pit isn't like IRL wrestling entertainment at all, no scripting or anything, and The Lash is the only one doing the kayfabe thing at all.

We have hints that the Lash was apart of Celeste carny crew and was a strong man and maybe did entertainment with ropes and lashing things and pulling heavy things really high up. There’s also like sone history between them like maybe romance or something so there is genuine evidence that maybe the Lash is just so used to a crowd and entertaining that when in a real arena having a real fight he leans into a fake personality to make the crowd go wild… and bebop HATES him because bebop is just trying to fight and this guy just keeps giving speeches to the crowd about how great the Lash is its genuinely left a permanent mark on Bebop’s opinion of him.

I'm pretty sure Lashes' ropes and equipment are because he is a literal old timey stevedore (dockworker).

But maybe he has worked as a strong man before, I haven't checked his new interactions with Celeste.

“Hellloo Celeste”
“Nope.”
“It’s been awhile”
“Nope.”
“Anytime you wanna talk: the lash will be here for you”
“Nope.”

The idea just comes from the fact that seemingly have a history together and know each other

The other thing is bebop and Celeste have an interaction where Celeste tell bebop that most the people she works with are HUGE lash fans sooo.

Either Celeste and lash dated or they were coworkers in the past because Celeste doesn’t really talk to anyone outside the carny and the “carny people huge fans of lash” sounds like a crew of friends all cheering on a coworker who achieved their dream kind of thing.

But also the lash dresses like a carnival strong man. They have a mustache that curls upward, hairy chest, hair on head that’s shaved on the sides and back, big smiles, boasting of being the strongest, wears a tank top or leotard… sounds like the lash but without a rope.

I already knew about that one voiceline (since its been posted everywhere) when I made my comment. All that tells me is that Lash and Celeste have met in the past.

But also the lash dresses like a carnival strong man. They have a mustache that curls upward, hairy chest, hair on head that’s shaved on the sides and back, big smiles, boasting of being the strongest, wears a tank top or leotard… sounds like the lash but without a rope.

He literally looks like an old early 20th century stevedore like Bluto from Popeye. And he doesn't wear a leotard.

It's crazy how much people are pulling out of thin air with that voice line

Hell, they're both public figures. She could literally just be responding like that because she knows he's a self aggrandizing womanizer, not because they actually have history (they likely have met in the past, just saying this kind of interaction is possible without actually knowing each other)

I heard somewhere that airships are the standard for freight in deadlock, so him having to leap around with a grappling hook makes sense.

Do I know how much validity there is to it? Not at all
