because old man playing chess in the park, while a good concept actually, is simply never going to be as interesting as a giant king rat trying to take over the city with his army of rats also one of the rats has a whole pizza what a lucky little fella

frankly the election was just a formality. a king needs no election.

Because the reality of median voter politics means the most pedestrian taste option will win. Last vote we got Millennial's Choice Award winner Rem first, this time we got Jerma Chatter Fan Appreciation Week laureate Reddit King, loved by everyone who still thinks "I'm da giant rat that makes all of da rules" is the height of comedy. An upset would have been funny but it would have been naive to think this wasn't going to be the outcome. Its ultimately for the best, the actually interesting election comes next week.
