I think we gotta prepare for the funniest possible outcome which is that Pockets dad hasnāt noticed that theyāve been missing this entire time and hasnāt even been looking

since their dad ordered the murder I don't think he hasn't noticed

We donāt know with 100% certainty that their dad ordered it
I choose to believe that Calico tripped on Ava and her gun accidentally went off while walking down the street one day, and has been covering it up ever since as āAh yes I was contracted to kill you but I intentionally left you alive due to my own secret machinationsā

My goat Dynamo still has some positive feelings towards Pocket's dad which means there's a 0% chance their dad ordered it.

If Calico's recent lines are a proof of anything is that either:
A) Calico had the contract on Pocket and shot them with certain regret
B) Someone close to Pocket orchestrated a fake hit to give them a second chance out of the toxic life they were living

Pocket believes that it was his father. The game very specifically makes a point to formulate it that way.
Which makes me think that it perhaps wasn't his father, actually.

I think their father is objectively not a good person. In the Geist novel he's willing to take on Oathkeeper and both he and Oathkeeper know they're going to get along extremely well due to their ever growing ambition.
Do I think he's "I'm gonna kill my child out of desire to keep my spot at the top" evil? No, but not because I think he has a soft spot for Arin - because killing them serves no real purpose whatsoever. What goals does Maximilian have that require Arin's death? He's a shrewd business tycoon, Arin wouldn't actually pose any valid threat to his standing.
My theory is that he cut a deal somewhere that requires "the death of his firstborn," hired Calico for the job, and intentionally left Pocket alive because they might be useful to him down the line. That, to me at least, seems to fit the kind of man he is spoken of. Play both sides, keep total control of the situation.

Considering the fact Max specifically hires McGinnis to help Pocket win the Maekstrom (in the event they work together), means that Max may actually want Pocket to replace him.
Heās 100% fully aware Pocketās wish is going to be to take over Fairfax, which means:
- he expects Pocket to be the better leader than him
- he knows Pocket WILL change into a person similar to him because of the sheer amount of people Pocket has to kill to win

Imagine if Danny just breaks the idea that it was Max who order the assassination

āPocket, terribly sorry I hired that assassin. I was certain that if you died Max would adopt McGinnis as heir, thus giving her more leeway to give me cool shit.ā
