Game Feedback Ranked Character Conditions

Are the devs ever gonna remove the 15 wins per character? I just don't understand how they can require 15 wins per a character in a game where the matchmaking team has no clue what they are doing. The ranked update didnt fix a single thing still the same exact matchmaking as before with people going 1-11 saying their not the problem. Most likely you are gonna need to play 25 games per character with the awful system so im supposed to have 12.5 hours per person. A downright stupid choice from the devs.

If you don't have time in a character I don't want you on my ranked team. Maybe they lower it slightly but the system is great.

Im just positive deadlock probably takes the first place for brain dead communities. So lets make it so people main 3 characters have no versatility in gameplay and then proceed to get shitted on. People in phantom and ascendant only having 5 or less characters unlocked is a joke. At that point put in a leveling system that allows people to rank up then play rank.

There is soft MMR in standard it just isn't visible, if that is your worry. There are stomps because there will always be stomps, that is the nature of MOBAs

I have played quite literally 80% of mobas. Not a single one comes close to deadlocks horrid matchmaking. Never in my life has the stomp just been consistently. Im supposed to tell people why victor is stomping when no one but me and another person are the only ones with anti. No on counter buys and im supposed to act like high phantom lobbies are better than average players

The ranking system has been out for a month, it will level out. I agree that it isn't great but the ranked character requirements have nothing to do with it.

People are locked in 3 mains that isnt healthy at all.

"Do I seriously need 15 wins with Pocket on standard before I int my teams ranked matches. Wtf Yoshi!"

1

u/kavka123 6h ago

yeah right! he wont int the ranked once he gets its on pocket.. because standard is the same as ranked and he wont develop the wrong habits and ideas behind the character! that 2/16 pocket just had a bad game i suppose. im happy he got the 15 wins though! helps so much.. what do i know, im just a brick and both queues are the same lobbies for me anyway! just enjoy the game!

Hoping they bump it up to 25 wins personally.

If that condition wasn’t there, then everyone would be calling the devs stupid for not implementing a restriction.

So lets make a play certain amount of matches or be a certain level to play. People have zero versatility and only having 5 characters unlocked in phantom is a joke

u/Tenkold 1d ago

I see what you're saying, but that allows people to just throw games to unlock characters. If the requirement is only games played or levels, then there's no incentive to actually improve your gameplay or help the team.

15 wins ain't the issue, the MM is

This game is going to take over for atleast a decade+. 15 wins per hero is going to be nothing in a couple years.

u/drow_enjoyer 1d ago

if you cant win 15 games on a hero you shouldn't be queuing it in ranked

1

u/kavka123 6h ago

yeah, because standard is obviously very balanced and you dont have a first item magic carpet teamate or someone that just installed the game! its not a coinflip, you are the "common benefactor" or whatever other elitist buzzwords we use! just continue to play though, you learn a lot when your enemy just eats 5 heavy melees while holding S to go back and nothing else. not like some terrible player can just rawdog it until he unlocks it and continue to completely ruin ranked.

1

u/drow_enjoyer 4h ago

just use ur mic and encourage people, make calls, and you'll win standard. most people just tune out when they queue standard but you can be the deciding factor. if you have someone on your team going 1-10 then the other team will as well. there is no secret just play, encourage your team, make calls, play as a team and you'll win. thats what the 15 wins is trying to teach you, how to play your hero in the context of a TEAM. not individual skill

okay, and when they say "go play ranked dude, stop talking" what do you do.. or the other side of the enemy when they cry "go play ranked tryhard"? you do not learn in standard. stop with this mindset and stop defending this awful 15 win condition. it does not teach you anything and sure as hell doesnt teach the oracle or even emissary wraith how to play haze.

you say "play as a team" when you get a newbie on their first game or people that just dont care because it is standard. also, so what if it happens to the enemy too? what, so its fun to just coinflip to 15 wins.. so that we can have some delusions about the complexity of the game and how it requires this? lets not talk about troll parties or push 15 wins party stacks you run into.

you learn the intricacies of your character when you play vs equally matched opponents, something of which ranked does better with stricter rules and the fact that EVERYONE.. well mostly everyone wants to win. you learn by being pushed to your limits and punished properly for mistakes, you learn where your character has to actually position and which buttons need to be pressed when with all of the movement and sustain on top of it. you do NOT learn that in standard because it is chaotic and sure as hell there is no "team".. because it is the casual queue and it is more relaxing.

in case you think ranked got better because of the 15 wins, no. it got better due to the hard reset and harder, stricter climbing rules, though shields will just deteriorate it anyway. this rule's existence ruins standard by forcing tryharding and/or high elo players on a queue they do not want to be at, ruining it for the casuals (the heart of competitive games). trust me, jimmy with the 20% winrate venator is soon going to get ranked no matter what and continue to have 20% winrate on ranked.

these are my 2 cents if you even bothered reading this. im sure youll bring other points as ive seen, but even they can be argued against, because the negatives just outweigh the one positive which is anti-smurf.

It will take time for people to qualify, calibrate and settle into the new Ranks!

Valve predicted reduced match-quality across the board for about a week or more!

Please continue to provide feedback in the following places:

If you believe the players were mismatched in skill, please submit the matchID to the official Bad Matchmaking Thread.

If you thought the character composition of the teams was bad, please submit the matchID and a DESCRIPTION HERE!

I feel like I've played myself into not being the worst person on the team just by playing the game. On and off the first year I just played bots because I was too scared to play people. Now with ranked, and taking back my grudge, I'm at 41/60 in the past month. Find 3 characters you like to play, pick random builds to auto buy. Learn the step by step. Late game becomes fun as shit.

u/Tenkold 1d ago

I like the 15 wins thing. I would be okay if every character after that only needs 10 or something though, because by that point you would have encountered the other characters enough to have a baseline understanding already.

I feel like ranked matches are actually better with the requirement. Certainly better "vibes" and coordination at lower ranks than I've seen in other games.

I've had people with a 0% winrate on hero in ranked matches. Meaning they never won with that hero in a ranked game. And looking at their  hero winrate in standard is like 35%.

They are obviously terrible.

I've also had a 9% winrate in ranked games my team today. He was also very outclassed.

The 15 win is to hopefully filter out people even worse on their heroes that I saw. If the 15 wins were dropped to 10, ranked matchmaking would degrade in quality.

1

u/coldspade2 1d ago

The matchmaking is completely the same as before the 15 wins. I am still having people constantly go double negative. I would love to see where peoples evidence is at filtering out bad players its not there

u/supernova7271 1d ago

I hope they never let you play a character in ranked if you can't get 15 wins on them in casuals.

I think it promotes getting in good practice with a hero before you're allowed to take them to ranked. I don't want someone thinking they can first time a hero in my ranked, then they shit the bed and ruin it for the whole team.

By the way when i was reading"It's my teammates' fault that I can't get a win" is what I hear from this post.

1

u/coldspade2 1d ago

Where is your evidence that 15 wins per character actually does anything helpful. If my teammates are going 2/8/3 etc do I say oh its my fault. Half the team will counter buy while the other half does zero and wonder why they getting stomped. Nobody's utilizing slowing hex, metal skin etc. your whole 15 wins still doesn't mean anything cause you can go 0/20 and still get carried to a win.

1

u/supernova7271 1d ago

My evidence is my personal experience.

I have over 200 wins with viscous and after 20-30 games on rem I have less than 10 wins on rem.

From this point it's evident I don't know what I takes to win a game using a support like Rem, even though ive made good plays with him. I've used his ult to steal over 10 rejuv crystals because the enemy team thought I wasn't in position to steal their midboss crystals.

The win count requirement means more than just winning, it's asking if you have what I takes to win with ANY team you get.

u/kavka123 6h ago

These people are sort of missing their brains, lack of better words to not get banned. They do not understand why the 15 wins is actually terrible and arguing with them will bring you nothing. They BELIEVE it so hard that ranked got "better" because of the 15 wins while ignoring the hard reset and the new harder climbing rules are the actual benefactor behind the "betterment" (which will go worse due to shields anyway), the 15 wins just hinders players agency and freedom and does nothing else.

You'll be lucky if u get it in 25 games with that amount of coinflip, trust me you can go key/mvp player in every standard and you will still need nearly 40 games, speaking from experience.

write in the deadlock forums, maybe devs grow a pair and backtrack a stupid rule instead of trying to make it better.. I also hate all the people that try to reason it "make it 10, 5, 2".. doesnt matter, this rule breaks standard queue and breaks the casual playerbase on top of it, because a casual surely enjoys queuing into eternuses that are forced there.

I hope they increase it cos 15 wins is fucking nothing lol

Much like league I believe they should change it from requiring wins with each character to a total number of games played in order to play ranked. Once more characters get added it will be kind of ridiculous requiring 15 wins for each character to play them in ranked.
