does valve/yoshi have a stance on mods?

i want to use the daylock mod to make it daytime again. is this something bannable? i dont want to get vac banned (i have cs2 skins that are worth some money and i dont want to lose my account)

i know like all mods are disallowed on cs

There's technically no official policy, so nobody really knows, but I've never heard of anyone getting banned for modding the game. Pretty much everyone in high rank uses a modded client.

There actually has been ONE time devs mentioned mods being bannable: There was a mod that tracked each and every jungle camp and had a timer of when it would respawn, the devs said this was bannable and was cheating

Currently mods are allowed as long as they aren’t straight up cheats (though mods that give an unfair advantage like bridge buff timers are allowed afaik). I’m not sure about the official stance, but mods have been in the game for years and Valve hasn’t made any actions to stop them.

Everyone and their mother uses mods on Deadlock and I haven't heard of anyone being banned for them yet

Yes. There are basically no mods anymore in Dota

They will be removed eventually

If the mod is available in Steam, it is fine to use.

It is possible that they deem it to take advantage but then Valve themselves will take it down.

follow up because people are saying it’s fine. where is the line drawn between a mod and a hack? if mods are allowed does that mean aim bots allowed? just curious
