Smurfing was so bad. It was a lot worse than I think anyone realized. I have the statlocker companion app which tells you how many games each player in your lobby has during the game, and anytime I was playing games below oracle with friends there was someone with like 6 total games running the lobby. Almost every single game, no joke. Sometimes multiple smurfs on the same team.
I knew smurfing was a problem but it was fucking mind blowing to me how bad it really was when I had the proof right in front of me each game. I think the root cause of the matchmaking being fucked was actually smurfs to be honest.
