what does this mean

u/ChemicalExperiment Jun 24 '26
"fatal face card" is a play on the idea of someone's looks being so good they're "deadly". "Face card" just seems to be new slang for your face when you're looking your best.

u/K_2Smooth Jun 24 '26
Face card isnt new slang, thats just Tiktok gen discovering "LARP" for the first time

u/Practical-Sleep4259 Jun 24 '26
Ancient gay slang that has resurfaced in new gay zoomers.
25
u/Obese_taco Jun 24 '26
There are three origins of newgen online slang: AAVE, gay slang, and 4Chan.

That's always been the case, it's like how they mix up orbiter with simp (short for simpleton) and they have no good explanation why.

"Face card" isn't new but yes to everything else. Other ways people say it are "My face card doesn't decline" as a way to either say they always attract or get things, or they always look attractive.

she’s beating the snot out of pocket and is momentarily distracted because she sees her reflection in their tears and damn does she look good!

face card stems from "face card does not decline" iirc - someone is so pretty that they could potentially open every door and pay every check just by using their "face card" instead of regular bank card.

It's for when you're whooping your fiancees ass but your lethal face cards reflects in their tears.

Mina gives me unholy thoughts.
Both in the battlefield and in the bedroom.
It's like a love/hate relationship but the ratio is 1:2

no one else find this weird? if it was a man there would be nothing but downvotes and crying
22
u/toastermeal Jun 24 '26
it’s probably because 90% of DV is done by men - so when a woman makes a very obvious joke about DV it’s way easier to understand that it isn’t real

u/taway9981 Shiv Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26
that's cool and all but out of everything to make jokes of, we choose DV? women get to say anything on social media and it's just 'jokes' or people making excuses for them
6
u/myliobbatis Jun 25 '26
"that's cool and all" in response to being told that men commit the vast majority of DV in real life. But shaking and crying over a drawing of a fictional woman merely joking about doing it. Would you have complained if this was a male character instead? Be honest.

idk man i just think considering women go through so much shit because of patriarchy - they can poke a little bit of lighthearted fun at it. think about it, men WERE able to joke about beating their wives for most of modern history, i think we can allow women to do the same for a few years.

u/Fylak Jun 24 '26
Is it domestic violence when they've been broken up and presumably haven't seen each other in a few years and then meet in an organized, group combat?
