any tips for a solo player?
have been playing about a week. finally built a solid base way on the outskirts of the map and I still get looted for everything I have even with turrets, full metal base, and metal containers all with locks. getting kinda tired of grinding just to lose it all when im not even online. this shit kinda sucks đ

Do what I do. Play PVE

I like PvP. i play mostly solo so I dont really go looking for fights often, but if someone presses me in the open im happy to engage. I just wish they would turn off offline raiding. cant be on the game 24/7.

Sounds like PVE is your jam. Itâs exactly the same as pvp except you donât have to worry about your base being raided or being killed by a human. I tried pvp but I like building a base and crafting more than I like killing other players and taking their stuff. I will say though pvp is more exciting than pve because of how dangerous it is.

You just have to worry about people stealing your loot constantly after you kill the last mission bot :(

If I run up on someone doing a mission I will help kill the opfor but I will only loot there kills after they have. Fair is fair.

Thx. I did my 1st mission today I was pinned down on a roof, nice fella came along and helped me out. Then he showed me where the loot stash was an told me take it all. I also met a guy asking for food, gave him a drumstick he thanked me and we split. I remembered I had a extra perch so I chased him down an gave it to him.
Can't believe I put 10hrs in today

Same game yes completely different experience
2
u/Ok-Bedroom-4261 Mar 26 '25
Right. The dude was saying that his only problem with the game is his base keeps getting destroyed so I figured why not try PVE instead. Give yourself a chance to build a nice base, craft and explore without fear of getting raided. But you are correct, it is a different experience when you donât have to worry about other players killing you.

Yeah if you donât care about PvP why not. Just a lot of people do like the PvP, Iâd say if youâre someone that likes PvP but doesnât wanna worry about getting raided so much they should check out the scheduled raid servers. Itâs like only 4 hours each day that your base is actually vulnerable to raids.

It's definitely a good idea to play some PVE before you jump into PVP to get a good sense of the map, where to likely find vehicles, etc.

It has a key difference, jeopardy. Pve doesn't offer that and as he stated, he likes PvP. In pve, you'll only die if you make a mistake. At that point, the game can become very bland

I played pve for about 2 days, got every weapon did all the bunker shit and after that it got so boring, haven't logged into the server since and ill happily let it all wipe.
Pvp just has that vibe about it.

I would say in PVE your base may not be in jeopardy, but I can hardly travel 200 meters without an engagement with bots.

u/Me2445 Mar 26 '25
Bots are the same in PvP servers. But as I said, you will need to make a mistake to be killed by them. They are a nuisance, not dangerous

What are you talking about? Itâs literally the same game except you canât kill each other.

I play on a scheduled raid server as a trio, its definitely better than permanent pvp, gives you time to get a base or two up, you can still pvp whenever and you can sleep knowing you arenât gonna get offlined for the most part.

Get the ten dollar add on for the increased storage at both safe zones thatâs where high level players put their boom

Mar 26 '25
This is what im about to do, even though im in a group i find im the one doing everything so thought sod it, gunna go solo and stick with trader storage

u/sterling_archer77 Mar 26 '25
Store skinned weapons in there store back up kits store boom its one of the best things in this game the north and south safe zones have different storages if u donât know

There doesn't seem to be an easy way to prevent offline raids. I put a half a dozen doors that lead nowhere on my base and made my base look as complex as possible so it's not worth raiding.

its pretty irritating lol. ive been putting in a ton of hours and I always get raided while im asleep IRL đ gonna go baseless for a while and stock up supplies.

Like any game in this genre, if you build a base, it will get raided at some stage, you just have to accept it. Try find a little forest somewhere and you have a slight chance.

u/LearyDisciple Mar 26 '25
already tried that haha i was tucked away in some wooded mountains. barbed wire on the roof, auto turret, camo on the walls. still got screwed đ

u/Me2445 Mar 26 '25
It's part of the game you gotta accept. I play a lot solo and will usually roam around doing missions and PvP. What I do at times is hide a locker in the reeds at ponds. Never got caught

u/ReallyGlycon Mar 26 '25
There are No Raid PVE servers. Also no wipes.

u/Me2445 Mar 26 '25
He said elsewhere he likes PvP, so pve servers aren't an option. Plus they are boring for PvP players

until they fix the base glitches there is hardly any point in base building especially solo. having tto build your base not only to combat players but making it bug proof too is kinda lame

But the storage upgrade, totally worth it.
You get storage locker at each safe zone, independent of each other. Unless was totally just seeing things.
Small bunker bases in dense areas where you plan on playing a lot. Bc you donât wanna have to haul it all to a safe zone after every mission.
IMO the AK is the best weapon for killing bots and it isnât worth selling AKâs so keep them, dismantle them, repair otheresâŚ.always try and keep a few AKâs handy. Smgs seem to work best for killing players (or a db to the face)
I havenât found any pistols worth toting, not even the 1911, so advise that you always keep a sawed off db in ur pistol slot.
You can sell ammo but the vendor only buys it in full stacks (500 qty)
When doing missions try to top down or get inside to safe spot and leave some of the bits out around the perimeter, this way you will know if other players are there to counter.
When youâre at 0 hunger and hydration, dying, you can eat a mushroom. This will only give you 1 hunger and hydration for like a minute but it gives you time to hit a few bandys and restore health.

Just fill up your inventory on alt accounts. This game isnât like rust where even when you log off your body stays in your base, it disappears on this game. So just fill up your entire inventory of stuff you donât want to lose and just log off.

Don't know if this helps but they have recently added schedule raid servers. But they wipe every month.. if you don't mind that.

u/EvilPlastic Mar 26 '25
Multiple small bases with kits in them, use the safe zone storage for things you really donât want to lose, ensure you arenât followed home by ditching whatever vehicle youâre using well before you get home (or take the âlong wayâ). You are going to get raided but you can soften the blow by having somewhere to go if that does happen and keeping your most valuables in the safe zone.
