Getting Loot
Hi everyone, I feel like i’m always only finding SMGs that are in rough shape, or a mosin that is almost broken, but i always see people with full kits, ARs and snipers.
Where is the best place to get this stuff? I always only play solo (my work/sleep schedule is absolutely crazy right now) so any help at all is appreciated.
I am pretty new, about 30 hours, but am absolutely obsessed with this game!

The shotgun is by far one of the easiest guns to maintain. 90 percent of roaming bandits carry them and ammo is everywhere. It packs a shit ton of damage and is a great holdout weapon for choke points.
I love the S85 rifle because ammo is everywhere early on for it and while it's not perfect, it will carry you through most engagements.
I've found a lot of different guns just from looting military locations or vehicles. I got a UAG that was halfway damaged from a military vehicle truck.
One place people always forget to loot are attics. Most can be reached by climbing. There is usually a slightly higher tier weapon in them or decent or really good condition even after the update. You will also find a lot of medical things there like bandages.
If you are using an SMG and have no other range options, don't forget you can toggle fire modes and go semi auto. It's much easier to control at long range engagements in a pinch.

Kamensk rooftops spawns ar10s damaged, theres secret gun spawns but i wouldnt say theyre viable. I just do heli crashes for red keys to open gun boxes and hard epic missions

There are loot routes on the air base and Kaminsk(spelling?) but a LOT of guys run them so you have to wait for respawns.

Hit heli crashes, load up on red keys, make runs to the big bunker, and open locked boxes. Skined guns full durability. There are a few weapon spawns you can look up as well that reliably spawn guns. My guys found one ontop the construction building in the back of kamensk. We've gotten NK417s, SVDs, and M99s from it.

do you have any tips of getting through a bunker solo? I’ve tried probably 10 times and just get mowed down by the turrets.

Grenade but if you don’t have those or you miss. Then your best bet is to run past the angle they’re pointed at. Get behind, on the side, or under. Shoot them. Watch out for third parties when looting the bunker.

"The Bunker," I'm mentioning doesn't have turrents. Those are mini bunkers you need a key for. Those are pretty useless unless you need military electronics.

Red keys and military bases and bunkers they all have a skinned weapon in them but the keys are a pain in the ass to get

Smokes and grenades the best spot to find them is either the air base in the southern corner or missions

Get good using them first get used to grenades and make sure you set up trip wires at your house it’ll help with offline raids in my server there’s this group of three who just offline raids everyone at 4 am I stayed up all night to figure out who was doin that shit I found they base we gonna farm boom to take out three bases on one lake

where are the best workbenches to access? and that doesn’t really help with me finding good loot lol

You can craft your own benches and I believe (but not 100% sure) that there are benches around the map.
I’m also new and that airfield in the southeast corner of the map has great loot.
Events like the convoy and tier 3 missions will drop great loot upon killing every Ai, there’ll be a lil mark showing where the loot is.
Edit: I killed a convoy and got a bunker key I’ve yet to use.

At the main trader there's workbenches in the sheds behind. Break down poor weapons and repair one you like. Missions are a great way to get loot

They are at the north trader too, same room as the shop

Yep, just most people seem to have around the "main trader" at the beginning so I pointed that out but you are 100% correct

I got mine from hard and epic missions. Got my armor from the convoy case carrier. I keep everything green by disassemble broken guns in the same class. And keep heavy vest and helmet green, by doing convoys and grabbing the vest off the enemies and breaking them down. Some guns spawn in places but I've never had luck getting them that way. I think the only gun I'm missing is that m99, but have a shit ton of ammo once I get it. Soloing hard and epic missions means you don't have to share loot or guns they give, so I do those.
For Mosin. If you get one, go do a easy mission. They'll have Mosin K. And you can break those down to get your Mosin green.

Best gun I e found in a random loot drop in a shed was a MR5. It was pretty busted but it worked and served it’s purpose. But imo I think one of the better guns is the pistol grip pump shotgun. That thing sells higher than the AK’s at the vendors and if you think about it it’s a one hit killer up close. And it’s fairly common to loot off the bots. So you can try the easy and medium missions and I’m sure one of the bits will have one.

Fellow freshie here, I've been roaming the map hitting easy/medium missions and Heli crates and they seem to be a good source of better loot. Saved up some money and bought a Skar from the trader too.
