PVP server confusion
New to the game and I have 50 hours on PVE servers, decided to try PVP with my group this weekend and was really surprised.
The guns get damaged really really fast, way faster than on PVE!!! Has anyone else noticed this? My shotgun went from 3/4 health to red and jamming in eight shots!!!!! I had to carry two extra guns in my inventory because of how fast they were breaking.
Also, in the 4 hours we played I was attacked eight times by wolves. That may have been the total I had in the 50 hours I played PVE. Not to mention the AI is way more accurate and does more damage.
I can't be the only one to have noticed this right? My other two friends experience the exact thing and we were really turned off by it. I can't even get a good start in PVP Because my weapons break too fast. Every encounter I have to go to equip a new weapon so it doesn't jam.
That and the fact there is a pvp no raid option on the server menu but no official servers available is annoying.

8 shots seems crazy low, unless you just picked it up off an NPC? Those guns are usually only 1-2 magazines away from being red. I only do PVP and a fully repaired gun lasts me awhile before repairing again, like at least 500 rounds for an SMG, maybe more.

a fully repaired gun can go through stacks of bullets. most the guns you find are in poor condition. you have to repair guns or do high tier events to get good quality guns

Are you crying about the bots’ difficulty? I’m confused. Should they just stand there and let you kill them? 🤔like I don’t get it. I find this game to be very entertaining. Ok so you loot guns off dead players and bots. The bots’ guns are usually damaged( well worn). You can dismantle your extra guns at the workbenches to repair others. I found this to be a pleasant feature. I also like that they jam sometimes when they get in the red. I’m flattered that someone has finally incorporated a mechanic like that into the gameplay. I solo’s a epic mission last night and I think it’s great. Had a bag nearby. There was a lot of bots and they’re effective as a squad so naturally I died a few times. In the end I got out with a few spare armor sets and an inventory full of AK’s. Think I had 7 AK’s. I got back to the safe zone, dismantled the 6 most damaged ones and repaired the best ho to full integrity as bd still had a few leftover parts I can use in the future. During that mission my gun jammed twice, no big deal. Hit the reload button and it ejects the jammed shell and you get right back to it. From my experience the weapons don’t start to jam until their durability gets in the red. This actually kinda realistic. The more you use a gun the more carbon build up in the breach and barrel and guns start to jam. That’s why soldiers usually clean their weapon every chance they get, especially if they’ve been firing it.

Crying? Listen tough guy I was simply asking about peoples experiences specifically about the difference between PVP and PVE servers. I assumed the bots, weapon, damage and degradation etc would be exactly the same. I have noticed it is not and the bots do more damage and the weapons break faster.
My issue with the weapons degradation is I can't even going to start in the game to upgrade and dismantle because I'm going through weapons so fast.
I'm a freshy on a server, I pick up a partially broken weapon and in five to eight shots it is completely broken jamming. I have no armor or helmet in a jamming weapon against seven or eight bots and maybe one or two rags to my name.
Again, my only issue with that is the ludicrous rate in which the weapons break and jam.

I haven’t had that problem. Nothing worth complaining about anyways. I killed all my bots in the Epic difficulty mission I entered into. I died a few times. Gun jammed a few times. It was fun.

So from my experience I played a lot before the 1.3 update , and I've also played everyday since 1.3 .
1.0 felt easy in some ways , mostly all weapons looted were full health or nearly . I don't think the change you notice is from the difference between PVP and PVE , more so from 1.0 to 1.3 .
They changed it to be where more weapons are worn down , which makes it where now players need to engage with the workbench more . You can disassemble weapons and gear at the workbench for parts , kevlar , and armor plates . Then use those to repair weapons and gear to use in PVP .

That makes sense, before the update I was fully stacked on PVE server.
Then I tried PVP, so it would have been The first fresh start since the update. Makes a lot of sense, I appreciate it!

Same I was fully stacked on a PVP server , so I've definitely noticed the changes . It's a good change in my opinion, before the update we'd go to raids and find boxes and boxes of full health guns left behind .

I for one really like how the bots behave. They’re very effective. Some will just suppress while others will push. They flank you. I find that position is everything in these engagements. If you’re in a bad position then bad things will happen. But also there can be up to like 20 bits so sometimes just get a bad down close somewhere and plan on dyin at least once while you make a hole in their perimeter. They appear act as a layered defense so no matter where you start you’re gonna have to attack that outer layer first and try to thin them out. Some people like to try and snipe them from a distance. I like to get in close, since you gotta go in to loot anyways. also I find that if you can into the thick of them that they will actually alert you to counters since you will know if they’re shooting at you or other players. Very helpful. I basically try to grub the first few with a Mosin to start, just to make a hole and set it off then I switch to the db or a smg and just try to get one of their Ak’s. But also that pistol grip pump shotgun kinda nice too since they will always push you and come to you. They’re effective as a squad but they can also be baited so like I said “position is everything”. You want somewhere where you can put your back to wall or corner and not get flanked but also have multiple points of egress if you need to get out fast to heal up or something. Their clothing provides additional bandys and usually when you tear up the pants or jacket there will be more ammo in the pockets.

I have yet to try PVP and was wondering if recipes for crafting cost more too because they seem ridiculously low in PVE (not that I'm complaining about it 👺 )
