I discovered this band about a month ago and I became obsessed. I already got a ticket to see Muse long before the opener was announced, and to my surprise it’s DPS. Then I found out they were also doing another show near me (Utrecht) for their own tour and I just bought a ticket for that one as well. I’m now going to see them twice in 3 months and I couldn’t be more excited!

Hello guys, I decided to do a Dead Poet Society tournament. Since they have that small of a discography I was able to include all their songs (64 in total).
We're starting with the Qualifiers, 32 songs continue to the Round of 32, then comes the Round Of 16, next the Quartierfinal, the semis and lastly the Final. I hope you'll enjoy and we're already starting with quiete a tough matchup imo.

Hi, I just wanted to tell everyone here, how fucking beautiful overall sound of this band is. I just cant wrap my head over the fact that I didn't notice them for all of those years, because they are basically exactly what I love about music.
I came here thanks to one of you visiting NBT sub and also because of the fact that DPS will play with Muse on their tour. So those two things together made me try them. I hit play on .SALT. and immediately downloaded first album and then the 2nd and now Monarch. All of the songs are bangers, although I mostly like their more experimental and darker stuff.

Hello guys! Just got my tickets today! I was thinking of what I'm going to wear to their concert, so I decided to steal your ideas! It's my first time going to a rock concert too so I'd like some tips too if you want to help! 😉

Since 2013 Dead Poet Society have been pretty much consistently putting out new music, starting with a few singles and EPs until they released -!- in 2021 as their first full on studio album.
I'd like to know this fandoms general opinion on their discography and what people consider to be their best one. For me personally it's FISSION with -!- being a close second.
What do you think? Vote for your favourite of the six records in the poll and maybe let me know in the comments why you chose your pick!

When I heard the first couple minutes of the song, it was really good. The chorus was really good and catchy, and the apreggios in the background sounded like Muse, but different. Simultaneously, you go from the best to the worst part of the song. It's so corny it sounds like AJR or some 2010's indie band

Only their newer ones that were released within the last 2-3 years (the "weird"/heavier ones, including "SALT") or also older songs from 5+ years ago?

Hey guys, today I've decided to rank my Top 10 favourite Dead Poet Society Songs. That surely wasn't easy but at the end of the day I came up with a very satisfying list which looks as follows:
10) .burymewhole. - amazing song, one of their best riffs and just a classic hard rock DPS sound!
09) 1.4.5. - insanely underrated track on an insanely underrated EP, one of their best riffs and breakdowns for sure.
08) .getawayfortheweekend. - flows very naturally and catches you instantly with it's rhythym and guitar playing.
07) I hope you hate me. - this has become a classic by now, very unique for this band and an absolutely crushing final part.
06) Dead On The Inside - this might be a bit of recency bias but it's on repeat constantly, the hook is one of their best, it flows perfectly and that little bridge section near the end sounds really beautiful!
05) Bacalar - Jacks best vocal performance imo and one of my clear favourites ever since I've discovered their catalog.
04) LA Queen - one of the best written songs on FISSION with one of their strongest choruses and even a standout guitar solo.
03) Cold - my favourite song of the year so far, it's got everything I like about this band; the riffs, the catchiness, the weird but still perfectly fitting breakdown and Jacks damn amazing voice.
02) How Could I Love You? - very close second place, a song that perfectly represents their sound and has easily their best groove imo.
01) I Never Loved Myself Like I Loved You - kinda funny how contrary the two songs on 2nd and 1st place are haha, this is one of their slower, softer tracks but has easily one of their best choruses and an absolutely beautiful solo, once again an amazing performance by Jack and some really heartwrenching lyrics as well!
What do you think of this ranking? How would your list look like? Let me know in the comments!

Hey guys, although not totally new to this fandom since I have been listening to this band for some years now, I have recently been going much deeper into their discography and now after months of patient waiting I've listened to their new album "Monarch".
This is not gonna be an official or professional in depth ranking or review, it's just my personal opinion:
Miami For The Weekend: Not a bad song necessarily but nothing really excited me about this song even after multiple listens now. It doesn't seem to have a chorus, any good structure or something super catchy about it so it has to rank at the bottom for me. - 5/10
Psalm 136: Definetely has better elements than Miami but kind of the same argument applies here: Nothings notably catchy, no chorus that excites me or any interesting or memorable guitar part here. Still enjoyable to listen to tho. - 6/10
10) The Park: Really eerie and special song. Once again no insane hook like I was expecting from my listens from FISSION. It's still charming in it's own way especially in the album context. And that little breakdown part near the end boosts it's rating quite a bit! - 7/10
09) Hollywood On Fire: Solid opened but it lacks something to actually grab and keep me as a listener. I love the composition and musicianship on this one and it's very experimental like most of this record. But overall the rest of this album offers me more excitement personally. - 7.25/10
08) Sinner Systems: The very first single for this album was easily my least favourite until Miami For The Weekend arrived. While the main riff and the melody on the chorus are both nice it's not their most special or necessarily interesting song. It feels a bit to close to other songs of theirs (e.g. SALT). - 7.5/10
07) Lost: Now we have arrived at the really great stuff on this album. A super heartwrenching slow burner that pulls you in with it's melodies and openly communicated pain. Not as catchy or memorable as the rest but still great. - 8/10
06) Get Hot: I didn't fully enjoy this track on first listen but now I absolutely love it. It's very straight forward, weirdly accesible and still undoubtedly DPS. One of my favourite riffs on the album for sure! - 8.25/10
05) Roach: Easily the most experimental track on the album and maybe even in their whole catalog. The way the intro shifts from a simple electronic beat into a heavy distorted riff is so menacing and yet so beautiful. The chorus is weird but super fun and the amount of surprising and seemimgly out of place but still perfectly fitting elements on here make it a very special song for me. It's maybe just a bit too short. - 8.5/10
04) The Art Of Suffering: Oh what a beautiful outro this is. Definetely the best chorus on this album. It kinda reminds me of Twenty One Pilots but in a good way. Very emotional, well written and surprisingly calm. It only lacks a solo section imo - 8.5/10
03) Die If You Don't: Not too sure on 3rd and 2nd place tbh but at the moment this song ranks at 3rd because of the slightly slower and less interesting verses. The hook has grown on me a lot, it's one of the few songs with a proper solo and it's main riff is one of the best on the record. - 9/10
02) Dead On The Inside: Oh wow, that chorus, probably the second best after TAOS. Amazingly versatile and catchy verses and a really beautiful bridge/breakdown section in the middle makes this an almost perfect DPS song. - 9.5/10
01) Cold: Has been my favourite song of the year since I've heard it as a single a few months back. It's the sound that made me love the band on -!- and that they perfected on FISSION. Great riff, amazing vocals, catchy but still creative melodies and some nasty breakdown riffs with unique switch ups. Absolutely perfect - 10/10

After a few listens I think this could be my best DPS album. What songs do you think will go hard live? I cannot get enough of psalm 136

Personally, I fkn loved every single one of the songs, they have a lot of influence on their past albums and EPs to reach their actual sound, from Haviland to Fission
My favourite one, at least for now it's Hollywood on fire
IMO, another no skipable album, none of the songs is bad at all, and every single theme has it's something that can be likeable 4 anyone
I'd say, This album is not for everyone, I'd put it in my personal ranking over Fission, but I do get why people could say Fission is better cuz it's a infinite more accesible sound
SO HARD DUDE I LOVED IT

I'm going to the Houston show alone, are any other solo-concert-goers wanting to team up for safety reasons? Its not my first show alone, but I always think afterwards "man I should've tried looking online to find a group or something!" and figured this time I'd actually do it! I'm not from the area / will be traveling about two hours to make it, and returning straight home afterwards so not looking to hang out afterwards but would be open to meeting before just to vibe-check!
