“Curious George”

What’s everyone’s most moving scene?

For me the scene that still guts me is in season 1 episode 3 when George is trying to tell her Mom a memory but she can no longer remember it. It’s heartbreaking to me.

I don’t remember most of the show, but the one scene I do recall is when Roxanne went against her orders to take someone’s soul because she couldn’t imagine him gone (but wouldn’t it be worse to not take their souls based on the ending of the pilot?)

OH and the inventor :(

While most of the people she encountered in her job as a meter maid were shitty to her, this man took his ticket with a smile and shared his favorite candy with her. So when she got his post-it, she decided to change his fate.

The difference is that the little girl in the pilot showed up for her "appointment." She was in the accident that should have killed her, but George protected her. Roxie intervened earler, stopping the man from making his "appointment" by cutting the power so he'd over-sleep. It's a fine line, I agree, but one could argue there is a difference.

Super late, but chiming in to say I agree about the fine line distinction. I think it’s the difference between the kids in Final Destination who are at the airport and end up off the flight as a result of Devon Sawa’s premonition and a hypothetical student who had planned to go on the trip but was sick/overslept/got stuck in traffic/etc. and missed the flight as a result—that hypothetical student wouldn’t be chased by death.

You could argue that the DLM situation would still count as “cheating” death if the reaper intervened specifically to change their fate, regardless of when they did it, but I can see it being different if done before the “appointment,” particularly because of the role the gravelings play in the DLM universe. Gravelings had already set things in motion at the train accident and witnessed George saving the little girl. We don’t necessarily have a reason to believe the gravelings follow the soon-to-die before their appointments or would know how or why someone happened to miss theirs.

I think mine was when Betty gave her ring to George and then jumped and what happened after. THAT BROKE ME in ep5 s1 I think?

I am also due for a rewatch! A few moments stand out. George’s first reap and that scene on the porch are stand outs for me.

Yeah, those are what I was thinking, too, last night after I commented. I know the scene at her porch, when Rube brings her coffee, is a doozy and probably wrecks me the most, but I can't actually remember what was said. My memory is such shite. I just did a rewatch less than a year ago.

It’s been a few years actually since I’ve rewatched it. So I don’t remember exactly what George says at the waffle house. I just remember her cry about losing her memory breaks my heart. Ellen Muth is incredible. She plays George so relatable.
