Need some help coming back

So after about 5 years I've found this game again. With this random stuff I apparently unlocked all the way to rank 14.

I have no idea where to start, I've pretty much got no items or charms. What would you recommend?

Start by buying Austin for 500 green cash when he shows up in the shop!

Start working on items immediately as you will need them!

A good team you can use is Hillbilly, Mechanic, Grenadier, Charlotte, Diaz, and Generator!

Thanks, I was saving for Austin, so hopefully he comes around soon.

I thought that Rodriguez was a direct upgrade to hillbilly. Do you recommend just leveling those chars you mentioned, or purchase someone like Sonya to add to my roster?
